Glock G-19 or CZ 75B?

Dadgum, this is STILL going on? I hope the OP got what he wanted.
I will throw my $.02 in one the last two statements, yes a full size all steel pistol can be carried concealed, with right holster and belt selection - I did it for years with an EAA Witness 40. Believe me or don't, I don't care. I prefer my CZ P-01, also with good holster and belt. A Glock/CZ/Smith in a bad rig will be far worse than anything in a well designed holster. Not a fault of the gun at all.
Lots of hot air and bombast has been thrown around, and I will simply say again, I hope the original poster got a sidearm that fits him and his budget no matter what brand.
I think a mod said something about taking a 2000 round pistol course - whenever I can afford to do that I'll report back. Not likely to happen any time soon, no such classes offered within 75-100 miles of me, and bills won't allow it, maybe when I win the lottery.

Looks like the OP bought him a Kahr CW.40.....Guess he settled this disagreement quite nicely.....Didn't buy a Glock or CZ.....:what: LOL

CZ's are second rate.
CZ's are top quality firearms. The CZ-75 and clones are one of the most widely used military and police pistols in the world. It is Glock's primary competition in the rest of the world.

CZ75's were the most widely used military/police sidearm in the world for decades (it's now glock, but not by much).

they're still the second most copied design in the world (next to the 1911).

second rate guns don't achieve such widespread service. ;)

After all these posts, I'm getting the idea that it's about half and half. Maybe a simple poll would have been slightly more productive.
Personally, I've owned both, don't own either now, and am maybe considering a G19 or a Ruger P95 now, just to have a 9mm to shoot.

I think IMHO weight carries a lot of weight LOL if at the end of the day I can't hardly walk because of carrying a friggin brick around with me all day, I'll pass thank you. :neener:

Just for the sake of it, I'm a CZ P01 owner and I can attest to the fact that my gun's never jammed in any capacity of the sense, and I find it to be one of the better handguns I've ever had a chance to shoot.

I own both. Both are excellent pistols. The G19 carries easily, both IWB and OWB. I think the CZ-75 is too heavy and too large for comfortable IWB CCW. The two guns aren't really comparable in that respect. The CZ-75 was designed as a service pistol for OWB carry, and it shows.

I couldn't make up my mind is what happened. So I went with the Kahr to get me by until I can afford the Sig. Don't know much more about Sigs than I do CZ's or Glocks.....but one thing I haven't heard is anyone badmouthing Sigs. lol....maybe I'd better just wait. It will probably happen. But then I sure have strayed from my OP. It will take me at least 4-6 months to get the Sig. so this thread can RIP. Sorry folks.

Depends

For a carry gun, no question about it, the GLOCK 19. I have owned both and carried the GLOCK 17 and 19 on duty. I would and have trusted the GLOCK 19 with my life. Weight just cannot be ignored on a carry gun and the more compact size of the GLOCK 19 is a plus.

If you are looking for a car gun, the GLOCK 19 is still slightly more compact.

For a home gun plinking gun, either will do. When I lived outside the U.S., my house gun was a CZ-75. It held more rounds than my RUGER P-90 and had less recoil.

Also, the operating system of the GLOCK is simpler. Load, aim and shoot! The CZ-75 adds either a cocked & locked safety deactivation or double action-single action transition.

Both are good guns and I have used both. I just think the GLOCK 19 is more versatile. It is also absolutely reliable.

Sigs are great guns and I own a P228. However, it sits in the safe and I carry and shoot my CZ-75D PCR regularly. Its just a better gun for me. The ergonomics fit me better, its more accurate with similar capacity to the Sig. Its also a bit slimmer and smaller yet still service sized.

Both are good guns. I ould personally opt for the G-19 for defensive purposes as I prefer the same trigger pull every time. A lot depends on your personnal preference in terms of ergonomics.
