I shot an IDPA match, today. After I had just shot a stage, one of the more competitive shooters walks up to me while I'm reloading mags. He asks if he could see my XD, I said sure, cleared it, and handed it to him. He dry fires it a couple of times and asked if I had a trigger job done on it. I told him no, it is completely stock. It was kinda rough when it was new, but after a good breaking in, it smoothed out very nicely. He agreed and told me that he was thinking of getting one, which is quite a surprise, because he has been shooting nothing but Glocks the 4 yrs I've known him.

Oddly enough, I shot a Glock for the first time today after IDPA match and I found that I actually liked it. I've handled them before but. the grip doesn't suit me at all. However, when I shot it (a G22) through one of the stages, I was amazed at how well I shot the thing.

Good to see some people still keep an open mind.

I own a few pistols from both brands and I can say that they are both great guns.

I just got a XD-40 4" for $400 today, it came with ammo, bore snake, non-CA mags and less than 150 rounds through the barrel, haven't shot it yet... I wasn't planning on keeping it, but it's growing on me, it handles great! I had been looking at a Glock 19 (cause I have a mag for one), but the XD popped up and I couldn't pass it up... even though I just bought a new Kimber 2 weeks ago. 'my name is KC and I have a pistol buying problem'

I know several guys that have XD-40s and XD-45s, who shoot nickle sized groups at 10yards, but I'd rather not have a .40S&W. I have other pistols, a couple 9mm and several .45acp, I'll probly end up selling it for an XD-9 or XD-45 down the road.

I had an XD40, XD45, G19 and G27. I loved them equally, but in different ways. The Glocks were definitely lighter/smaller feeling and i considered them my no frills get the job done kind of gun. Overall, however, I still enjoy shooting the XD more. The trigger, grip angle, balance, and overall feel of the gun was more solid and I shot it much more accurately than the Glock. Something about my XD.40 w/ a TlR-2 on it..i miss it so much!

I have owned quite a few Glock's and XD's, right now I have all Glocks, but when a too good to pass up deal shows on a XD 9mm I will probably buy it.

I have both and think they are both good brands. I like the trigger on the XD better and like the handling of the glock a little better. I think it comes down to what grip angle is most comfortable to the shooter.
I'd like to get a XD45 as the Glock 45's feel a little chubby for my hands.

Had a XD-40 Service but cash flow issues forced sale , then Friday I saw a NIB unfired XD-40 Tactical for sale for ...$335 :what: , , it ws the store owners , he is in ill health so was selling off a few of his personal guns . Later he told me he mismarked it but since he knew me as a 14 year customer he let it go at the price he marked . :neener: . I do have to admi I'm getting an itch to own a Glock , maybe a 22 or a model 20 so I might be tempted to trade it off .

I really wanted to hate the Glock when it came out. I was a dyed in the wool 1911 guy. The thing felt horrible. But it shot extremely well and was much less finicky than my 1911. I have to admit the XD feels more 'normal' to me after years of Glock shooting. I prefer the XD in 45 over the Glock, but the Glock 23 is still my typical carry.
