I do find myself admiring and salivating over 1911s, CZs, Beretta's, etc. Polymer pistols, not so much.

HaHa...it was page 3 before someone mentioned a 1911. Amazing! I am going to buy a lottery ticket...and if I win I will buy more Glocks. :D:cool::p

I was sure someone would pipe in with a comment about 1911s much sooner.

Now, back to “pig nosed” Glocks.
Apologies for the disruption. :)

1911s weren't really emphasized or the point which was basically I find steel framed pistols (I meantioned others) nicer looking but okay lol..

I know. :)
It’s a little game I have with myself. Whenever Glocks are mentioned on various forums, invariably someone will mention the 1911. So I always watch for it to see how ling it takes. That’s all. ;)

All,
I was thinking about a guy I met that had many Glocks and one of his G17s had this issue. It was very pronounced. I recall he said that he spoke to Glock and was told that it wouldn’t affect the operation of the gun. He didn’t seem to care about the looks of it.

...I like the way my glock is supposed to look...
To be fair, it's likely that no one on this thread knows for sure how they are supposed to look. My informal survey on 9 Glocks ranging from Gen 2 to Gen 4 (Models 19, 17, 17L, 20, 23) some unfired, some with thousands of rounds of use, indicates that at least some upward curve of the dustcover is more common.

All 9 of the pistols had at least some upward curve/slant on the dustcover, although on one of them, the upward curve/slant was barely noticeable. None curved downward and none were perfectly parallel with the slide.

In 4 of the guns, the dustcover very clearly makes contact with the slide at the front, in another 3 of them there's so little separation that it's necessary to squeeze the slide and dustcover together to check for movement.

That leaves a couple with obvious separation between the dustcover at the front of the slide with one of those showing only a barely noticeable upward curve/slant on the dustcover.
