I voted XD for my friend Bob who died this week. He was a Glock certified armorer and traded in his Glocks for XDs and was very happy with them. I own a Glock that was a present from my wife but I really like the Xds too.

I have handled the XD, its boxier than the Glock.
I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said 'cheap'. It's just that I've noticed some quality control issues with Springfield that don't seem to exist with Glock. How many parts does the XD have vs. the Glock?I was amazed to read another post that said the XD was a "cheap knock-off".
It may be a "knock-off" in the sense it is very much like a Glock, but "Cheap"?

...and if you started a poll, "which is the better battle rifle, m1 garand or glock 17?" you'd have a certain number of people voting for the latter.dmallind said:The problem with a thread like this is you could make it Glock vs. Lorcin and some of the self-proclaimed rugged individualists would vote against Glock just because of the strong American tradition of rooting against the popular choice and for the "underdog".
XD's may be fine weapons, but pink fluffly carnations vs. Glock would still pull a fair ratio towards PFC's on THR. There is no more irrationally loathed pistol manufacturer on earth then Glock.
