Having just got a new 226 - I am contemplating a good rig. I will have a paddle Fobus for gen use and IDPA probably but want something decent too that'll be good for carry. The thread on holster sources was excellent - but be good to hear what folks like for their own SIG's.

So, for me OWB - I will want a belt slide pancake style ... with generous cant. Min belt size 1 1/4 but 1 1/2 better. Not wanting to mortgage my soul - just reasonable and does not have to be over ''pretty''.

Go to HIGHNOON and look at theri stuff, I use their pancake rig for my 226,220,and 229, theri rep is beganing to catch them and they can be a little slow in the delievery area. Another good outfit is Rafter leather goods.

How about something like this:

SharkLeather75BD.jpg

That's genuine shark on the one side. In it's current form the price is $75/shipped. Without the shark, it's $55/shipped. There's a bit of room to add some more "cant," too.

yo Kevin...that is one sweet looking rig...

Chris...If ya still looking for a rig for your 226 in 6-8 months, let me know... :D

Someone ya might wanna lookat is lightfeather(sp?) hoslter's...I am pretty sure that the url is around here somewhere...

P95,

I don't have a Sig, but I did just recently get a new open top pancake style holster for a Glock Model 30 (If you haven't already, you can see my thread about it on this forum).

I ordered it from the shop Azrael posted a link to (www.littlefeatherleather.com) and was VERY pleased with the whole transaction... He is a one man custom shop, so I suppose you could get about whatever you want.

I have a P226 ST, and while it's heavier than yours, it's identical in size. When I carry it, it normally rides in a suede-lined High Noon Topless. It is very comfortable and conceals well.

I've used a number of holsters over the years and I believe High Noon is tough to beat. Their prices are good, they typically have a 2 week delivery time (or less), and they have the best customer service I've seen.

A good belt is absolutely essential for effective CCW. For the money, Rafter's and the Wilderness 5 stitch are two great belts.

I also have an Alessi CQC/S for my Walther P99. This is my favorite holster, but it costs more than the High Noon ($100 v. $60) and delivery can take 6 months or more. Regardless, I have found High Noon and Alessi to be far superior to Galco and other mass producers of holsters.

I use two holsters for my P226:

Lots of great leather out there......if all you want is a basic pancake, the dillon style is very very nice. Very much like a Garrity or Bullman style...
You cant go wrong with lots of companies out there.............Shoot well.
