I received a Visa gift card for Xmas this past year and went to use it on Midway's site. However, you cannot pay using two different credit cards. So, I called the 800 number and spoke with customer service. The young lady said that even over the phone, I could not split the order with two cards.

After an "Oh well, I'll try elsewhere" the young lady, named Angel (ironic), suggested we use the gift card to buy $50 in Midway Gift Certificates, apply those to my order, and then pay the balance using my regular card. Quick thinking on her part, and it worked. I asked if she was trained for that, and she said no, she just thought of it.

I suppose this strategy will work with any online vendor that doesn't allow credit card splits. I was very impressed with her quick thinking. She saved a sale for her company.

:)

They are the best for a reason. They have a huge selection to choose from but not everything is priced right. You have to check out prices locally since the shipping can really damage a good deal. There prices can be high on certain items even with a FFL discount. I usually only buy in bulk or for hard to find items that are not stocked at local stores. Also they have a rule not to ship ammo, or components to Massachusetts residents. Which sucks. Though I bought the majority of my reloading tools through them. I have had really good service through them. For instance not too long ago I bought a scope mount through Midway that was missing a part. Well the manufacture would not send the a replacement part, so I called Midway to see if I could return it. The customer service women said they would exchange it for a new one. :D

I've been real impressed with their fast and cheap shipping. It usually is about $3 for shipping and gets to me in about two days!

Also a very satisfied midway customer, and a big fan of their "round up" for the NRA.

Midway USA freakin' rocks! They ship fast and always keep you informed as to order status.

I've only ever had one beef with them, and it was over a portable reloading stand they had online on the front page for 24.99, when their regular is 59.99. I set it to order, but it was only coming up on sale 49.99. I called in and asked about their honoring their Ad-division's mistake and they wouldn't. Maybe I should have pressed for a supervisor.

I still order a lot from them, and they've been really good. I can let one slide, given that I'm in retail also. IMO, they run their shop the way a business should be run. Carry what people want at a competitive price (not always cheapest), Ship it quick, Take care of the customer, and Take care of the employees. That makes a company successful.

Midway has always done me right too

Nice to hear from another satisfied customer.

Shooter429

Ditto.

I had one odd thing happen, non-gun-related, a month ago. Ordered a book from B & N,* got a call that it was in, went to pay cash at the service counter. They wouldn't take cash, wanted check or credit card.

So, per the service counter person's intructions, I had to walk a whole fifteen feet(!) over to a cashier and buy a gift card (with cash) in the amount of the purchase and walk a whole fifteen feet(!) back to the service counter and pay for the book with the gift card.

Thirty whole feet(!), mind you!

It was exhausting, I tell ya.

But how everlovin' weird is that?

Gun.

* Just trying to keep the name of the book-selling company involved secret, doncha know.

I have dealt with Midway for several years now. Have never had a problem with them-prompt, courteous service; good products; nice folks.

Didn't they start the NRA round-up program that a lot of gun related businesses now follow?

I get the sense that the family who owns Midway are shooters who really care about our sport and our firearms rights.

You aren't buying enough. ;)

I think the most I paid in shipping was about $40 when I ordered 5,000 assorted bullets from them when they had the blem sale last year. Came in two huge boxes. My UPS guy must've hated me that day. :)

I've ordered a lot of stuff from Midway. Never had a problem. A good company.
My only beef is that they sometimes pack your stuff in those damn styrofoam
peanuts. A major nuisance.

I ordered a bottle of CLP from the a couple weeks ago. When it got here the bottle was busted and about half had leaked out. Luckily they had thought ahead and put it in a heavy duty plastic bag so it didn't get on anything else in the package. When I called them about it they asked if it had ruined anything else then sent me another bottle. It was here in 2 days. Too bad they're one of the few companies that still treats customers like we're the ones paying their check.

Ditto on that. I like to read the newspapers from faraway places that some companies use to pack stuf.

However, I guess it's time to inject a little humor. Years ago, one of the guys I worked with played a joke on me.

"Hey, 230RN, could you move that box to the back of the store?"

"Sure, no problem," a cooperative, compliant, and naive 230RN replied, wanting to make a good impression in my first week there.

I picked up the big box. It was surprisingly light. It was full of peanuts.

There was no bottom in the box.

Hated peanuts ever since.

But of course, when a new guy started working there, it was my turn to cut the bottom out of a box and...

Another +1 for Midway, yet to have a problem order with them. Prices might be slightly higher than some of the mom and pop web stores but there is no dinking around on Midway, lots of communication and fast shipping.
