I have been looking at different 1911's for about two months now trying to decide which one to get. I had settled on the Springfield Loaded Parkerized and went to order it today. On the way I stopped at another gun store to see if he had one in stock. When I left I was the proud new owner of an XD45 Tactical. I love this gun and it was the first time I had been able to put my hands on the tactical version. The grip does not even compare to my Glock 21, it feels like I am holding a 9 or .40. Even my wife said it was comfortable for her to hold. I have not shot it yet but as soon as I do I will give a range report.

Congratulations. I own the .40 S&W tactical. I like it, but I'm not sure if I love it yet. I shoot .40 S&W in everything else I own for the most part so it's not the .40 S&W round that bugs me. I think it's the trigger.

It does feel good in the hand though. Once I get Springer to work on it, I'll be able to give a better appraisal.

That is great I have the same one and I LOVE it, got it about a year ago and have not have a single problem whatsoever, and it feel soooooo good in the hand

congrats sir, i love my xd's they are awesome. the .45 is a great size and even though i have small hands i have no problems holdig and shooting one.

One smooth shooter, I have the XD45 Compact Tactical. I like it better than my XD45 Compact because I can change out the recoil spring and guide rod (which I did, Don't Fat stainless rod and a 20# spring). It's even smoother now:D

Enjoy!!!

Congratulations!! It's a good feeling, yes?

A friend has the XD9 and brought it to the range a few weeks back ... pretty nice!

Well done! I have the .45 XD Service model, so I guess you have me beat in any "tactical situation" :D

I have a feeling you're going to love it.

Now you can concentrate on getting that Springfield :)

Have fun,
DFW1911

5 attempts to get my post posted - it kept sticking... I kept refreshing to make sure there was no double post - then, when it finally takes - doublepost :banghead:

Congratulations on your purchase. I hope you like the gun. It is a great shooter - I used to have one. You should get some pretty good groupings with it.

The grip does not even compare to my Glock 21, it feels like I am holding a 9 or .40

Either you have bigger hands than I do, or the Glock 21 has an ENORMOUS grip. I never could get used to the large grip on the XD45. This was my first doublestack .45 and it really killed my desire to have a doublestack .45 ever again. It wasn't exactly way too big, it simply didn't fir comfortably in my hand. I stick with my 1911 now.
