Got another Model 10

The model 10 usually goes for about $350 in my area. However, a few months ago, my local shop received a large number of model 10s as part of a security company trade-in, so I was able pick up a 10-5, with a pencil barrel for $250 OTD. It was the best deal I've gotten in a long time.

Model 10s in my area vary quite a bit. The best price I saw recently was a 2" model 10, a -7 IIRC, going for $250. Saw an unfired 4" 10-6 the other day going for $399, not too bad considering it didn't even have a drag line on the cylinder.

Xavierbreath also seems to have good luck picking up things at pawn shops. I guess some people have the gift.

Pawn Shops are hit or miss, so patience is key. A few months ago I was tempted by a $325 Model 10-4 4" in 95%+ condition. But I figured I could do better. 2 months later I found the Model 10's cousin, a Model 15-3 4" for $310 at a Pawn Shop:





BTW, as a fellow civil servant, I have seen how we do things and do NOT want us anywhere near HC. Good God almighty. The gub'ment excels at breaking stuff, which probably explains why the American soldier kicks so much butt.

If your a Civil Servant,

you like me are already getting gubment health care. It's everybody else that is not getting it. We got it made, paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and reduced cost health insurance because we have such a large pool of people in our policy groups. We are getting something for our tax dollars, we pay taxes just like everybody else, I just wish people in the private sector were at least getting something for their tax dollars in the way of health care. I don't think health care is a right but I do think we are paying taxes and that they should be providing us with the best health care in the world. Everybody says this is the greatest country in the world, well it should take care of people in regards to health care instead of letting private industry and insurance companies charge people to live.
