Got myself a SA-35

Huh..... that's a negative thing, isn't it?

Is there an advantage to not having a firing oun safety?

Thanks for the reply WVsig. I really value your knowledge...particularly in regards to HP's

I have not seen one but it would not surprise me to see a titanium firing pin which would have less mass than a steel firing pin. SA has do this in 1911s for years. It works most of the time. LOL

Thank you for the praise I am really just a guy with an obsession which recently has become popular and somewhat useful. I have an order in for one. I am not in a rush. Once it gets to me I am going to shoot it stock. Then break it down and swap out parts with a stock FN and then aftermarket parts to see what works and what does not. I hope things "drop in" with a little fitting.

I saw that, but with my hand size/shape I got bit by the slide itself fairly often, a beavertail would have been better for me.

I doubt the burr hammer would make a difference for me.

So you want them to look like the millions of semi-custom 1911's out there? Somehow I don't think that's their marketing strategy. I think they're after the classic BHP look. Could be wrong.

I just read on S. A. website that it only comes with ONE magazine !!! *** ? One magazine for a gun that almost costs $700 is very crappy in my opinion .

Most new pistols cost a lot more than $700.

Stand by and watch the hoards trying to buy one with one magazine. I wouldn't let that stop me if a pistol I wanted came with one mag. I've purchased plenty of firearms like that because mags were available retail. A dollar waiting on a dime.

Congrats, OP. That's commendable of your LGS to sell it at a reasonable price. I'm in as soon as I can get one at MSRP.

Well some people do a beavertail on BHP well.

Yeah, you can have it your way. There are two types of people. The first are those that won't spend a dime to have nods made to a firearm. They want everything on it the way they want it when they buy it. The second type are people who spend money to get it the way they want it. I don't spend a lot of money on pistols but I spent a considerable amount of money building rifles. I like what I ended up with because it fits my idea of a precision rifle.

We're talking about a bottom end imported parts pistol here and people are complaining about the original design. That's like a really nice repro of a gov't model 1911 and people complaining about it not having a Beavertail.

I give up. Take me prisoner.

Mostly I’d prefer they don’t slide bite me.

But I’ve never really cared for how they look

Mostly you don't like the BHP. You don't care for the slide bite and you don't care for how they look. That probably won't be the people that buy them, and there will be plenty.

Just a guess.
