Grips fit?

Will custom grips made for a J-Frame Smith fit my Taurus 605 (which is a J frame sized gun?)

I don't think so. I tried to put some S&W K frames on my Taurus 66 and they wouldn't fit. The circle thingy under the medallions are different sized and don't come together.

Really irksome too, since I find the grips on the Taurus to be a tad large for me, and really like the style on my M15. One of these days I'll get around to carving a set - then I'll break down and actually buy a set I like.

Although the grip frames are the same size the J frame grips won't work on the Taurus. Remove the grips from the Taurus. See that hole on the left side of frame, the one that's covered by the grips? The J frame grips won't cover that hole. The grip pin is also in the wrong place.

What type of grips are you looking for? Hogue makes wood and rubber grips for the Taurus. Pachmayers and Uncle Mike's (boot grips & combat grips) also makes grips for the Taurus.

I did get S&W "K" frame target grips to fit one of my old Taurus wheelguns.
I just had to redrill the locating pin hole. Everything else looked fine.
Sorry, but I no longer own the gun. Can't show any pictures.
