1.Buy ten SKS's @ Military Gun Supply in Fort Worth for $120 each.
2. Drive to Dallas and sell said guns for $200 each.
3. On leaving remark "This will help pay for my new AR15"
4. Drive (laughing all the way) to bank with $800 profit.

OR

Park a block away with a big sign reading "I buy Guns" and rescue any collectables.

Sadly, I can't do it because of prior committment. But I hope someone else does.

From Friday's Dallas Morning News:

Church, Stewpot buying up and recycling guns
Need some extra holiday cash? First Presbyterian Church of Dallas and The Stewpot will buy your guns. The Gun Buy Back Program offers $50 per gun and $200 for semiautomatic assault weapons. The program will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 1822 Young St. in downtown Dallas. The church and The Stewpot will destroy the guns and recycle the metal. The Stewpot, which provides services to homeless and low-income residents, has collected and destroyed more than 360 pistols, rifles, shotguns and semiautomatic assault weapons since it launched the program five years ago.

And then the antis get to stand up and crow that they got TEN ASSAULT WEAPONS OMG! LOOK! FOR THE CHILDREN! off the street, that they likely disarmed a STREET GANG! :barf: :barf:

Better idea. Buy ten SKSs, put them away in cosmoline for when the antis declare that they can't be sold anymore.

Don't help them.

Haha, I like the way you think.

If they are paying $200 for an SKS, they are getting ripped. Unless someone shows up with a paratrooper or maybe a nice Russian. Must really want those evil rifles off the streets.

Throwing money at the war on guns is going to be about as effective as throwing money at the war on drugs. We all know how well that is going.

Disarming the public . . .

. . . one rifle at a time.

I look forward to the day when they offer to hold a dictionary buy-back.
"OMG! Look! An early Webster's! And a HISTORY book!"
"No Way! Those were outlawed right after the last guns were rounded up!"

(And then there are all those other amendments . . .)

I'm with ManedWolf

Don't do anything that encourages the grabbers. The fewer guns that get turned in, the more inept, ineffectual and out of touch they look. Don't give them a good photo op. Winning the political battle is much more important than making a little money.

Don't sell our birthright for a mess of pottage.

I was actually considering doing this a couple years ago.
A local PD did a gun buy-back and was offering a $100 gift card for rifles turned in.
I thought about buying some Mosin-Nagants and turning them in at a profit, only to get a gift card and buy a nice, shiny new deer rifle.

What would be kewel is if there were NO guns brought to be bought back. Then the antis' knee-jerk reaction would be that they have succeeded in disarming the citizenry. Oh, to be a fly on the wall to watch their reaction when the first drive-by shooting occurs after that! :p

I got this old POS double barrel percussion cap SG that's pretty useless. I wonder if I could convince them it's a semi automatic assault weapon.

What about sitting in the back of your pickup a block away with a sign, as suggested, saying you'll buy guns. I wonder if this would work. We know that some at least are just getting the cash for a gun they don't ever use, and would be happy for someone else to use it.

Can I get $50 for a zipgun? I'll make millions that way!:D

Please, oh please come to my town. I have been waiting for a gun buy back to unload a Davis .380. The last one was in Philadelphia about a year and a half ago. Problem= They were giving gift cards to the local Urban Baggy Short Wearing Mofo Store. What a Bit*h, that is were you really need the firepower! Well, it was a Davis.............

Careful there.......

We never thought M-1 garands or passenger pigeons would be scarce either.

The list of guns I've sold is VERY short.

But if I could get them to buy one that was worn out beyond hope? Hmmm.....
