Turkey Creek: God bless you. The founders began their quest at a bridge too.
Barbara: You just described 99% of 'resistance'...
Prince Yamoto: You shouldn't be so certain of that. The categories of firearms targeted, are targeted in a cultural tolernace sequence. First, full autos were no good for the public. Now semi-auto's aren't good- but it would be absurd to ban bolt actions... In 40 years, when news media, governemnt run propaganda camps (public school), the lack of hunting and hunting lands, the decay and shrinking of the gun culture to legislative attacks ALL take their toll on the American consciousness...the culture of America at that time might see the banning of bolt-actions and lever actions as very appropriate.
Most kids are bombarded with anti-hunting propaganda from all directions. It is bad to hunt, it is ignorant to hunt, hunters are evil or barbaric - guns are bad, all of this is dangerous, the environment is threatened and all of these themes are constantly being pushed on our children by TV, school and news media. Every depiction of hunting or hunters is ultra-negative.
People can be made to believe anything. That's one of the ultimate truths of the universe.
Don't be so sure that there aren't elements, working hard TODAY, to get people to believe this stuff TOMORROW.
Look around outside the USA for examples of how this has already happened.
