Actually, Col. Applegate and Bill Harsey are responsible for the design and Gerber manufactured the commercial version you have. Really his knife instead of a tribute piece he never was involved with.

I have replaced the Randall with a smaller Bark River knife with orange G-10 handle, but down't have a photo yet. The Bark River fits in the survival box with the other gear.
