Gun or guns you regret selling.

Have had several that I wish that I never sold. :banghead:

Savage 24J DL in 22mag/20ga.
S&W Mod 5967 9mm (only 500 made)
LC Smith Field 20ga.
Springfield Armory SAR-48 Bush
Legend AK47
Pair of Browning High Powers Mk II (consective S/N)
Colt Combat Commander (first pistol I ever bought)

I'm sure that there were others but these are the ones which really stick out as to my stupidity.

Maybe the Mini 14, but also having the Mini 30, the 14's sale provided fast cash for my first Enfield.

No regrets for the Russkie MN 44s. Both made huge groups (bayonets extended or folded) at 50 yards with yellow-tip Bulgarian, but maybe Czech, Polish or Russian ammo would have worked better.

I miss my S&W mod 28-2. No sentimental value, just miss it.
Guns I've sold were mostly just sitting for decades, glad to find good homes for them.

Oh, that's an easy one: my Marlin 1894 Cowboy .357mag. I would buy it again, even at today's prices, if I could find one!

Mint condition SKS Russian, chrome barrel, all parkarized, olive green aftermarket stock. two years ago. I'd give my left nut to get it back.

I've regretted every sale just a bit, so I don't sell them unless it's a dire situation.

I do miss my long/heavy barrel Ruger 22 target pistol, but it was stolen. (I can see the thief using it... "It won't hurt much if I shoot you, but it will if I hit you with it!")

I regret selling my Dan Wesson Pointman 9mm and my Dan Wesson CBOB. Also, the first revolver I ever bought: a 4" Smith 686-4

Thompson-Center Contender single shot pistol. Bought it used for about $140. I had barrels for it in .357 Magnum, .22 rimfire, and .222 Remington. The .22 RF barrel had a Lobo handgun scope on it, and I could shoot treed squirrels through the head with it. I could hit popcans everytime at 80 yards with the .222 Remington barrel. I was really really STUPID to sell that thing.

STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!

I've never regretted selling any other guns but that one. If you have one, DON'T sell it. ;-)

Or sell it to me really cheap.

I've never sold a gun before, as I've never owned one for myself until I bought my first handgun a couple years ago. However, this thread has helped me make a decision as to whether I should sell it or not. The answer is: not gonna sell. Despite the lack of commonly available ammunition and the questionable usability of the FN 5.7, I just really like shooting this gun. And I guess that's what matters the most, right?

Most of all I regret selling my Norinco .45 ACP, it was such a reliable, sweet shooter and with no mods. Also my SS J frame .38 snub, 1980s vintage. And then there's the Ruger .357 security six...the Makarov I got for a steal in the early 90s...then there is the Taurus model 94 which I learned trigger control on...awwww...I'm going to bed!! :banghead:

Haha:D I hate this cause my cabinet is getting kind of full and all I've ever heard were people regretting selling any of there guns.. Normal reasons were financial, marital and the "not enough safe/cabinet space"....I have yet to regret....:( PS:"Don't get rid of a gun you have just because your "friend" doesn't like it"

1. The S&W M1917 I had in the Army. It actually looked like it had been hit in the barrel by a rifle bullet. Their was a tiny dent in the outside of the barrel with a corresponding bump inside a groove. It was still incredibly accurate.

2. The Colt Official Police I had in the Army. Who EVER thought that Colt would stop making revolvers?

3. My Dan Wesson 15VH. Incredibly accurate, so much so that it got used in a statistics project for my then girlfriend. I sold it to a friend here, so I may buy it back some day. It's more likely that I'll just buy another one since they're still such a bargain.

.357 Mag Colt SAA
.45 Colt S&W M25-5
Dan Wesson M40-10HV SuperMag

each sold due to unexpected hospital bills.

Guns can be sold?!?!? Don'gt tell the wife!!! In all seriousness though, I've yet to sell a gun. I do plenty of research and take my time when purchasing one to be sure its something i want, and have been lucky to not have gotten any "lemons" to date. I toy with the idea of getting rid of somehting once in awhile to fund another purchase, but end up saying just a bit longer and expanding the collection instead of simply diversifying it!

I generally don't regret selling any of my firearms. But these days, I wish I would have kept a couple NIB examples of Colt 38spl Diamondbacks just because I like them. But, if I want, I can buy replacements. As a friend says about buying at gunshows as I was wishing I had made a deal on a certain gun.... there's always another one. There are few standard factory guns that you can not replace if you try.

I sold the very first rifle I ever owned, which was a mint Norinco SKS with a nice cherry colored stock -- a great shooter. I bought it when I was 15. Well when I was 16 I decided I wanted a pistol, so I traded it in on a surplus Czezh 7.62x25 pistol. Shoulda kept that SKS... if nothing else, so I could still have my very first rifle.

I also got rid of an H&K USP .45... traded it in on a DPMS AR-15 back in the early 2000s. Shoulda kept the HK. I had gotten a great deal on it.

I shoulda kept my .308 Saiga, too. It was a great rifle with the 21" barrel and the twisting cheek rest stock, but I needed money. I sold for market value it just before the prices shot up on those things!

Now I know better than to do all that selling and trading... I have a nice M1A and a nice M1 that I'm never getting rid of... unless of course somebody offers me something ridiculous for one of them!

I've sold a lot over the years, guns I didn't care for, guns I ended up with duplicates of, ect. I don't regret selling those.

However, during a bad streak of luck that wiped out my savings, I was forced to sell some of my favorite guns to pay bills. And that hurt. Badly. I totally regret having to sell these.

Colt SAA in .44 special with a 7 1/2 inch barrel.
Browning Citoris in 16 gauge and 20 gauge.
T-series Browning Hi Power
DWM Artillery Luger

Sadly, I've never replaced them. I made a significant amount of money over what I had paid for the guns, but now in todays market I can't touch them for what I sold them for. The only one I've actively searched for I can't find in comparable condition - the Colt in .44 special.

I guess when I feel I can afford them and already have everything else I want, I'll start working on replacing them.

The Colt Python 4" revolver I sold to help pay a bill off. The guy I sold it to said I could buy it back for the same amount bought for, only he'd sold it before I could get the money gathered up! Never again!!

Not really, although I'd like to have all of them back. But "regret"? Naw. They're just guns. At the time I either needed the money, or saw something else I wanted more.

They can all be replaced.
