Gun show and the wife

Took the wife to the gun show this weekend. She had a good time.
She bought more then I did. Nothing gun related. But she had a good time. I think flea market is a better word, more jewelry and household stuff then anything else. Now she wants to go with me the next time.

Does your significant other like to go with you to the gun shows?

Yep, and for the same reason. She picks up jewelry and "stuff."

Doesn't make me feel guilty about buying another gun or a mule-load of ammo!

My wife is the one that keeps track of the shows in the area. I ask her what's the plan for the weekend & she says we're going to the Gunshow in "Where ever"

she gets more excited about them then me. She'll jump out of the rig & says, "Alright! Let's go buy some guns!!"...I know, I'm a lucky man :^)

Same here, but we've only been married for forty years, so I guess we're still "newlyweds".

The gun shows in my state are small, which always leaves me a little annoyed when they charge me to get in and then allow a substantial percentage of the tables to set up with non-gun-related items. In this case, however, it seems to have payed off for the OP by allowing his wife to enjoy the show.

Lol...Yes she does but I wouldn't wish them on anyone. It amazes me how some sibblings are completely different.

Be happy. I am blessed with a wonderful woman who will go to the range with me, change targets, shoot with me, and reload her own ammo. Be proud of what you have my friend, not everyone is so lucky.

I am lucky.
She has been shooting with me but it just is not her cup of tea. However, she has no qualms of my hobby and I am thankful for that. I was just hopping this would be a start to get her involved.

I guess I'm lucky, my fiance likes going to gun shows for the guns.

She absolutely hates the pink "girl" guns, but every time she calls a nice 1911 "cute" I cringe.

Mine uses the word 'pretty" alot,,, yea hon it sure is,, so im gonna buy it .. OK ?? that is exactly how i got back into running a trap-line,, she saw some yote and coon pelts made into various clothing and such, now she seesm to think i need to come up with 90+raccoons for a king-size raccoon blanket ! but she likes gun-shows and is now in search of a S&W 'airweight" hammerless to carry in her purse instead of Glock-27,, because she bought new purse and glock is too big,,, i encourage this type of behavior cause i will ultimately end up with the "extra' glock ,, not a bad deal IMO

Last show it was a J Frame for me. She saw one and HAD to have it.
So leave the show and head off to the lgs.
She keeps looking at the tiger striped gold, Desert Eagle. That worries me.

My girlfriend likes going to the show, mostly because she gets to spend more time with me. One of the added perks for me is that one of the vendors at the show I frequent the most took a fancy to her and has given me a couple free boxes of ammo every time I buy from him when she's there!

My wife hates gun shows, but went along a couple of weeks' back because we were also going to visit a farmer's market along the way......Had my oldest and his girlfriend along with us.

Upside was she saw, ( and got), a new "tactical light" for her purse/pocket. ( The old 7" one was "too ugly/heavy" for her purse !! My "upside" was the smaller light puts out more lumens than the she complained about........ >MW

haha, I do something similar with my GF. I browse and find the things I want to buy, and then I disappear and send her in to make the purchase. She is great at talking those old men down on their prices. She says it works really well to tell them that she's buying them for her dad! lol. I got some surplus 7.62x51 for 20 cents a round doing that last year.

Not exactly, but, if she asks nicely I'll go with her. She can be an impulsive buyer with guns, so sometimes I have to reign her in a little. For some odd reason she doesn't like going to the LGSs, but she's all about some gun shows. She get's an allowance and is limited to 2 handguns per show or 3 if none are a 9mm. (serisouly, how many Glocks can a person have?!)

The cool part is, it's easy to get the seal of approval on a new gun when I see something I like.
