Guns in your dreams...and 10mm vs 44mag for real

Evidently I am suffering from senility when it comes to dreams. I can never remember them.

I have never seen a live grizzly but have been up close to a stuffed one. I vote 44 mag for something of that size.

Big autoloader for reliability even if the actual power is a bit lower.

Autoloaders are much more likely to actually work in bad conditions. Plus most stoppages in an autoloader are easily clearable w/o tools. All of the revolvers I've seen quit working while firing needed tools to get them back in action.

Revolver stoppages I've personally seen:
1) Ruger Security Six had ejector rod unscrew while firing, causing the cylinder to seize.
2) Taurus S&W clone got dirt under the extractor, causing the cylinder to seize.
3) GP100 had flap of primer metal blow open into the firing pin orifice, causing the cylinder to seize.
4) S&W lost its crane screw, causing the cylinder to fall out when opened. Technically, after picking up the cylinder and reinserting it you could still fire w/o tools actually fixing it would need a screwdriver.

If I had to pick a gun that would work after getting packed with mud in a fall and 'cleaned' by swishing it around in muddy water, a Glock* would be high on my list. I wouldn't want to try that scenario w/any revolver.

*It's not that I particularly like Glocks, but it's hard to argue that they don't make rugged pistols that survive abuse and/or neglect like few others.
