I bought a box of parts that was supposed to be a Remington Nylon 66
This was in days before the internet.
No illustrations available at time n place I was in.

Eventually was able to borrow a Numrich Catalog that had a illustrated parts page that helped a little.

I don't have anything that I would go so far as to say SERIOUSLY REGRETTED, but I broke my Marlin 60 .22 rifle (my very first .22) all the way down one time for a deep cleaning and it is a little tricky getting that recoil spring back in. It is fairly easy to kink.

I never broke my model 60 down that far after that.

Nope me neither...that gun had some seriously small parts&springs. after the recoil buffer was replaced...I vowed never again!

There was this M60A2 that had been put together with random parts from different versions, and the top cover had evidence of repeatedly attempted to run without the drive pawl properly engaged.

I asked if we could have a nylon66 to work on instead.

Winchester model 1907. In my defense, I got the new firing pin to replace the broken one, but still haven't gotten the recoil spring compressed enough to put it together
There is a youtube video from Log Cabin Looms that explains it. You might as well get a new buffer from Gun Parts, West Hurley, NY too. If you decide to do it yourself you most likely will need another hand or two.

HAHAHAHAHA I have fond memories of the M60. I carried that pig for most of my military career. And yes never let any E3 or below take it down past what the manual states for field stripping.
