A 29-year-old Fort Mill man was rushed to the hospital early this morning after an apparent unintentional self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The man was part of a group that police say was involved in an earlier robbery in Lancaster County.
Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, police arrived at a home on Hensley Road to find Larry Joe Smith slumped in the backseat of a car. A silver handgun was at his feet, according to a report from the York County Sheriff's Office. He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center. His condition is not immediately known.
Authorities say the group had returned to York County after robbing an individual in Lancaster County.
Two people that had been in the car left the scene on foot, said Lt. Mike Baker.
At least one was later arrested by Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.
