H&K USP Compacts

After shooting all the USP Compact models, my wife decided the 45 was for her. I'm allowed to shoot it occasionally (I get to clean it frequently--I can't put my finger on it, but something just doesn't feel right there...). Of all our guns, the ones I'd first grab for defense say HK on the slide.

A friend has a USP 40C and bought a 357 barrel. Real sweet setup: two guns in one.

I was at a shop today that had a USP Compact in .357 Sig... If anyone's actually interested, I can put you in touch with them. Sticker price was only $599.00.

In a full sized USP, I like the .45...

but

In the Compact, I MUCH prefer the .40.

Recoil between the .40 and .45 Compact, in my experience, is the same. I tried to tell a difference between the two at the range. I had my buddy's 40C, and I rented a .45C. I used the same brand of ammo (CCI Blazer). He'd load the two pistols, mix them up and lay both on the table in front of me. I'd fire one, then the other, two shots each... I couldn't tell which was which.

I have never fired a USP anything in 9mm, so I don't have an opinion.

The 357SIG barrels are spendy at $205 a piece, but it sure beats the heck out of paying the inflated HK prices for another pistol...

...I really can't complain about getting my USP Compact NIB for $495, though. :D

My daily carry is the Compact 40 but I picked up a 357 sig barrel and I am very impressed with the Speer Gold Dot 125 bullet.
