H&K USPc vs Glock19

The USPc 9mm is slightly larger and wider than the G19 but is a better quality pistol IMO! That being said there is, and I have never had a problem with mine, nothing wrong with a G19.

Sizes

Actually, according to HKPro.com and Glock.com, the HK USPc is thinner than the Glock 19:

HK 9mm USPc: 1.14" x 5.0" x 6.81" (width x height x length)
Glock 19: 1.18" x 5.0" x 6.85"

I don't know that anybody could really tell the difference, but it's certainly not bigger.

The USPc may be slimmer in the slide, by not much, but the safety/decock lever makes it wider overall than the G19. The bore axis is higher on the USPc making some say the recoil impulse feels "snappier".

Both are great pistols. I prefer the H&K. It fits my had better and points better. I can work the controls easier. Find what works for you.

Here you go. The Glock is a 23, but it's the exact same size as the 19 (L 6.85 x H 5.00 x W 1.18).

Having both in my household, wife's carry pistol is the HK, I like them both for different reasons. The HK is nice because you can carry it cocked and lock or DA/SA. The G19 is nice because it is simple no safeties to manipulate. Both have fine triggers and are accurate 9mm pistols. The HK suits my wife's needs and fits her hand better than the 19.

Thanks very much for posting the pics. I have been on the fence about going with an HK. I have owned the 23 and the 19 glock, a 26, a 30, so on, and so forth. I did hold a USPCT in .45 and it felt perfect. I must decide between the .357 or the .45. Don't really care for any more 9s or 40s. I plan to roll my own loads. Thanks again for the pics.

Thanks for helping to beat me to the punch on the photos.

I like both the G19 (my current one is a 19C) and the USPc9. I got such a good deal on both they had to enter the stable.

The only drawbacks to the USPc9 IMHO are:
-Mediocre to poor trigger
-13 round capacity on 9mm (I'm a 9mm fan)
-Different placement/action on the mag release, although it's pretty good

You can do a chamber check or charge the weapon while it's on safe, though, which is a nice feature.

The Glock, in comparison, has a better axis (as mentioned) but the mag release is difficult to operate in my hands compared to an XD, CZ, etc. Also, I find the need to swap out the slide release with the extended ones. I do like having 15 rounds in the mag, though.

I think you hit upon a very important issue - it felt good in your hand. I have a friend who can't shoot Glocks because the sight picture is off due to the grip angle. No matter how "great" they are, he just can't shoot them.

Good luck, keep us posted.

I couldn't hit the side of a barn with the LEM trigger when I first got it. Took some getting used to.

Now I'm just as accurate with it as any.

Glock mags are much cheaper than HK mags. Glock parts are readily available from a variety of sources. Glocks are very simple to work on. Can you guess that my vote is for the Glock 19?

I would not consider the HK simply because of their attitude towards the average citizen or anyone other than LEO/Mil . Glock, OTOH, offers Homeland Security discounts to ALL Firefighters, EMT's, LEO's, and Military (active and retired). I personally love the Glock design and the feel. The HK feels good, but I do not like the company's attitude toward their civilian market so I will not support them.
BTW, I vote for the G19!
