H&R Pardner Pumps: Worth a look

Went into Walmart the other day. On a lark I went over and peeked in the gun rack. As far as shotguns go I have always owned Mossberg and Remington in years past. I picked up a Pardner pump and then compared it side by side with a Remington 870 Express. I left the Remington on the shelf. I was very impressed with this made in China firearm. (Not crazy about the made in China part but what isn't anymore?) I bought two of them. Took them home and cleaned them up... I'm still impressed with them.... Action is very smooth.. Cost was $159.00 per gun... With the exception of the barrels Remmy 870 parts fit these guns. Mossberg and Browning choke tubes fit these guns. I am liking them more every day.....

I handled one on my last skeet outing. I love my 870s. But, I have to admit the Pardner was a smoother action.

I purchased a pardner pump several weeks ago from a pawnshop for the princely sum of $100 otd. It has yet to choke on any of the loads that I have put through it. I like my 870 express mag more but for a $100 u can't beat it.

I bought one for my son about a year ago.I shot it several times,and the action smoothed right up.He no longer lets me borrow it.

Have the 20ga Compact ($159 Walmart) for HD duties---lives behind the bedroom door---I don't even bother to put it in the safe when I'm gone---if my place gets broken into and they take it---I'm only out $159.

Great shotgun for the money. It beats the Rem 870 Express every time. BTW, you can get the shorter 18.5" Pardner Protector barrel for the Pardner Pump. Makes a nice HD shotgun with the shorter barrel.

I have the combo 28in barrel and the slug barrel its been a great gun taken deer and dove no problem with it at all better thne the new 870s except the made in china part but not as nice as the old wingmasters

I would like the 18" barrel.. For the money I do believe I will add another to the locker! I firmly believe one cannot have enough shotguns.. I sure was shocked when I picked it up for the first time.

My fiance just got me one for Valentine's day and once i cleaned the crud out and worked the action a few time she she runs like a champ.
