We have a very informative thread on the "shame"full ones, how about the best.
Should probably be contained to guns you have owned and are sorry you got rid of and ones you currently own.

Why is it your favorite, and since it is the only one you can have what extra tricks would you have done to make it even better.

Don't know if I have a favortie per say, but it probably would be my Glock 22. I learned to shoot pistol on that gun, so it has alot of memories. It was also my first pistol.
No tricks on it, just the right size slide stop, mag release, and night sights.

All of mine belong in my hall of Fame. And since I have not gotten rid of any, and planning to never do so, I only pine for ones I have not purchased yet. (A CZ75 is looking mighty tempting for some reason, anyways, I need another 9mm.)

If I absolutely had to choose one to keep, I guess it would be my USP40. No tricks, just the nickel type finish it came with from CDNN. Or maybe my Taurus Tracker... or maybe... :D

Aw! This One Is Easy!

.45 caliber West German SIG-Sauer P220A

Absolutely beyond approach; this weapon his performed
flawlessly since the day I purchased it!:) I has seen lots
of service as a LEO duty weapon; and as well, served as
an "off duty" weapon. And it still looks brand new!:uhoh:

So it gets my vote for "The Hall Of Fame"~

FootNote: Ladies and Gentlemen- after giving very careful
thought to the subject matter there are several worthy of
adding to this list! Besides the countless S&W, Colt, and
Ruger revolver's; I'd like to add my former Smith & Wesson
39-2 9m/m with serial A222XXX. She was a nickel beauty
queen, with light walnut checkered grip's. I can't relate
to it's reliability; as it was too darn pretty to shoot!

One other, a Series 70 Colt Gold Cup National Match!
Now, here was a shooter! And low and behold, I let
a friend take it off my hand's for a small profit. Well,
I guess its true, hindsight is 20/20!

I'd put my current Kimber Custom 1911 in this category along with a Smith & Wesson Model 19, blue, 4-inch barrel that I purchased back in '93 or '94 and *really* wish I'd held on to.

Gun I would keep no matter what: Glock 19 (3rd generateion frame)

Guns I wish I still had:
Sig 220 (before they changed the frame)
Glock 21 (1st Gen. frame)

Colt Government Models and Gold Cups are in my personal hall of fame. Also the Luger P08 Pistole Parabellum.

I have a number of guns that I am very fond of for various reasons. In picking one gun for the hall of fame I'd have to say it is my S&W 5906. The reason I chose it for this distinction is that contrary to popular perception regarding S&W autos, obviously not by everyone, they are inferior to Sigs, H&K's, Walthers and a few others. I purchased this particular gun in 1988 and it is nothing short of spectacular roght from the box. It was from a special run that had the flats highly polished, rounded trigger guard and very ugly fake wood delrin grips which I replaced with the standard black ones. It as the smoothest DA trigger of any of my pistols, has never malfunctioned and is extremely accurate. Everyone that I have let shoot this gun comes away with a very positive opinion, to say the least. I love my Sigs, Beretta, Browing, Colts etc. but I think this gun deserves special recognition. Mike

My new Kimber Pro Carry II just took the top spot from my trusty Beretta 92SB.

My S&W model 41 is right up there, too.

I was actually going to write an entry for Ala Dan, but was beaten to it. Except I would've listed a Hi-Point. :D

Anyway..my listing: Sig Sauer P225. Little brother to the P220: single stack compact 9mm. Perfectly reliable. It would probably cycle gravel poured into the magazine well.

Someday it will be a Wilson. Probably the Tactical Elite (ooooo, pretty :D). These days its a Springfield 1911 loaded with Wilson parts where it counts (ejector, extractor, guide rod, shock buffs, spings, holster). Gotta love a good .45!

Guess I should add mine.
It is tough.
My NAA 380 Small and potent.
Kahr MK9 9mm power and small enough for most of the time.
S&W 39-2 Big but can drive nails to 50 yrds.
Wish the new R-9 was out as I am sure it would head the list.
Or a PM9.

But bottom line would have to be my MK9 with NS.
Tired and true, never missed a beat and small enough to take most places with a good holster, loaded with 115gr corbon will stop about anything.

Things to do to it.
Stipple or checker the front strap and a C&S work over.
It runs great but they do some longtime reliability magic on the innerds.

HK P7M8

It is the most accurate, reliable, and sexy pistol I've ever owned.

Here are some of the guns I've owned rated from 0 through 10 (10 being the best)

HK P7M8 (10!)
SIG P220 (8)
Les Baer TRS (10)
Colt Combat Commander (8)
Colt Diamondback (5)
SIG P226 (7)
Colt 1991 80's (7)
MAC10 pistol @#$ (4)
Glock 17 (7)
S&W 629 (7)
Colt Phython (7)
Beretta 92F Inox (8)

If I could only keep one... man... that's tough... I guess my Springfield Loaded Stainless Target. I have carried it and could again if I had to. Completely reliable, plenty accurate, and just generally does everything I want it to. To make it my own, I'd like the front strap checkered and have a melt job done on it. Then have Checkmate do their stainless blackening to it. If we;re really going all out (and we should if this is to be my ONLY handgun) I'd have the top of the slide flattened and serrated like Seans BCP Delta and the back of the slide and bottom of the trigger guard checkered at 40 lpi. And maybe have a beavertail fitted just a bit better. That'd just about do it. :p

WOW!

Glad to see so many SIG lover's on this forum.:) To
quote and unidentified source, "I've never seen a
SIG Classic P-series self-loader that I did not like"!:uhoh:

But, I still reserve a special place in my heart for those
original Smith & Wesson 39's and 39-2's.:D If memory
serves me correctly, the Illinois State Patrol was the
very first agency to carry this weapon for duty? At the
time, it was a good choice; and probably would be a
bit better today, due to the wide selection of bullet
design's.

But, after I graduated to the .45 caliber SIG-Sauer
P220; I don't think I will ever change my daily carry
piece.

SIG P220 is my vote. I do have other Hall of Famers but the SIG stands out in terms of reliabilty and accuracy.

WOW....Sigs in the "Hall of Fame"...what a shock!!!!!!

I have a couple of favorites that deserve this honor.....

Kahr K40
S&W 5943 SSV
CZ 75 PCR
CZ 75 SA
Ruger SP101 (Ya...I know... wrong forum)
CZ 83 .380 & Makarov

Honorable Mention Kimber Custom 2

Shoot well

Hall of Fame

My favorite shooter is my CZ 75B 9mm. It eats anything I feed it and has never had a malfunction in 5000 + rounds.
The one that got away was a Colt Python with a 4 inch barrel. :)

H&K USP .40 full size-nothing special about it, it just works.

Plain Jane CZ75B-never a problem, always a great shooter.

Shake

Glock 20 (the most versatile handgun I own)
Ruger GP-100 4"SS owned since 1987, never a problem.
