I've been to the one up around Ft. Worth a couple of times and I was never impressed. The gun area is always crowded with people who don't know what they're doing and even though I know that all of the guns are unloaded with ties on the action I still don't like being wanded. I don't know the number of times I've turned around in a Cabela's only to have a muzzle pointed at me by some dips**t who's never handled a gun before.
Not to mention the fact that a lot of the counter cowboys know so very little about guns in general and tend to be fanboys of one particular brand. But Cabela's (at least the one in Ft. Worth) does stock some very nice optics like Nikon, Swarovski, and Steiner.
