Hard to go wrong with a Model 10

Seems like a lot of people hate on the pencil barrel 4" guns. I happen to like mine.
Feels light and handy to me. Balances well.


I can always grab a .357 if I want more heft...

I have a pencil barrel and it balances and shoots extremely well. Nice to carry as well. How ever I have to say the heavy barrel is more appealing to me.

I dont know if its just the different front sights, or just perception on my part, but I like the older M&P and prior versions. Like the half-moon sights better too. The barrels almost seem like they are a little heavier than the pencil barrels. Dont have a pencil to compare, now I guess I'll have to look around for one to see.

Yep, I prefer the pencil barrel as well. My 10-8 was a heavy barrel, but I didn't care for the look or the feel, which is why I let it go.

Heavy barrel all the way for me. I had a 10-5 that I sold. I do have a post war M&P with the pencil barrel that I will never part with; just due to the history of the gun.

Easy enough... buy both! Some times you feel like a pencil sometimes an ERASER!!!

I like my pencil barrel…looking forward to having a heavy barrel one day.

Here is my model 10-7 “C&E” gun. It was a Hong Kong Customs and Excise gun. I installed a set of Altamont “Service Panels”.
