I thinking about stocking up and they seem to have decent prices on bulk ammo and I was going to order 1000 rounds of both 45acp and 7.62nato in the "canned heat" bulk sales. I was curious to see how this ammo has performed for others thanks.

Georgia Arms ammo has blown up a couple rifles in Tactical Response classes. I'd pass.

but their pistol ammo seems to be well liked, I ordered some a day or two ago and just got an email that they're waiting on components, so they're cutomer service is good so far. and i really like that they show the velocities for all their ammo, and I also like that you can choose how hot you want your .40

A friend and I have used a fair amount of their pistol ammo, and it has been good so far. Customer service is excellent. I too experienced the waiting on components back order. Every email I sent was very promptly answered, and I was given a number of options on the order. No complaints whatsoever.

I've used Georgia Arms 9mm (115 & 147), 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 45 LC, .223 (55 & 68gr), 38SPL, .357, 44Mag, 35Rem, 30-06, 308Win and others all with no problem.

I've been using their .45 ACP Canned Heat, and it's done alright by me so far. Got some packed up and ready to hit the ranfe with me later on this afternoon, in fact.

I'll be buying more from them when the supply I have left runs out. Good people to deal with, as well.

I bought 500 rounds of .45acp 230grn JHP a while back. It won't chamber reliably in my Kimber or Springfield 1911s. We shoot a ton of their .38 and .357 loadings, no problems there. I've also used 10mm, .44mag, and .44spl without incident. I'm about 600 rounds into a case of 55grn .223 FMJ and haven't had a single problem.

I've shot their .30 carbine, and .223. I did have one of their .45 ACP fail to chamber in my S&W 1911, the first one out of the top of the mag got stuck and the bullet got pushed into the case. The others all worked fine though, so it might have been the gun and mag, I had just replaced the recoil spring.

I've used their 30 carbine, 10mm, and 357 SIG w/o any problems. I have an order for 10mm on hold now waiting for 180gr bullets to come in. They also have the best 32 H&R Mag out there.

I use their .38 Special RNFP, they go boom when I pull the trigger. Work fine in my wheel and lever guns. Customer service was excellent.

I have several cases of .223 5gr, and 9mm down the pipe - all good so far.
I also like their 7.62 168gr Match -- inexpensive alternative to Fed GMM or Hornandy Match. I had some that shot black soot out of my barrel, but to be fair, that might have been Kroil residue...

shot about 4 or 5 thousand rounds of their .223 canned heat, no problems. 1000 of their .45 ACP canned heat, no problems

I was faced with a similar question not too long ago concerning the 7.62nato and came to the consensus that I should get the Lithuanian Surplus now while it is available and when it dries up then switch to the canned heat.

The canned heat is supposed to be really accurate, but so is the Lith surplus, and the Lith brass is thicker.

I've used their ammo for years with no major problems. The "canned heat" is from reloaded brass and you may get an occasional bad piece of brass. Worth it for the price. The nice thing about Georgia Arms ammo is that they will allow you a credit on old brass when you buy from them. Saves you a little more money. They use new brass with their self defense and hunting ammo and it has been just as good as any other commercial ammo to me.

The Canned Heat (500 & 1k round counts) both come in ammo cans. I fogot to mention it in my above comment, but I also bought some .38 Special for my fiancee's 642, and it goes boom every time. Nice and stout, too.

I've used Georgia Arms Canned Heat for several years with no problems. They've all been pistol calibers: 9mm for a while, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .45 ACP, and so on, including my favorite 10mm. I've used various loads of theirs in many of those calibers. I don't think I've tried any of their rifle ammunition.

"Georgia Arms ammo has blown up a couple rifles in Tactical Response classes."

Was this the .223 that was returned to Georgia Arms and found to have a large number of rounds mixed in that they did not make?

I read the letter they wrote about it if this is the incident.

Oh, and I've been been buying GA ammo at the gun shows here a few times a year for a decade or more and have never had a problem. No one I know has. I'm working my way through another 1k of .223 now and will buy more at the 3/2 show.

The 9mm, .38, .45, etc. has been perfectly reliable for me.

I have put over 3000 rounds of their 55grn .223 FMJ through my Armalite AR-15 and have had no problems. I also have purchased and used a couple of hundred rounds of their .45 230 grain with no problems.
Their customer service is very good also.

For what it's worth, pretty much all of the headstamps on the .308 Canned Heat that I looked at were all Lake City stamped.

Been shooting it for years and never had a problem. Only problem I've even heard about was on rifle ammo. Loose crimps allowed the bullet to unseat if a live round was extracted (i.e. -hunting). I never had this problem, but an uncle did. I will not hesitate to buy more when the time comes.

I have put thousands of rounds of Georgia Arms .45acp "Canned Heat" down range using various Colt 1911's & Combat Commanders, SIG P220 & P245, HK USP45F & HK USP45C, Ruger KP90, KP97DC & KP345PR with no issues over the last 10 years. I also use their .38spl ammo and have not experienced any issues. Georgia Arms is a great company to deal with and their ammo offerings are excellent.
