Has anyone used an escrow service?

I found a firearm listed in the classifieds section of another website. The seller is located in another state. I know that he will have to ship to an FFL in my state for me to take possession of the firearm, but I'm really not comfortable with writing a $1000 check to a stranger and then praying. Gunbroker has a link to an escrow service (PaySAFE) that appears to allow firearms transactions. Has anyone used this escrow service or have another one that allows transactions with firearms?

I've used the FFL as the as the escrow, where they confirmed receipt of the firearm and held it until the check cleared.
