This is one of the most bizzare robbery stories I have heard in a while:

Back in the living room, the robber began to tell the couple about the bullets in his gun, which he said were special because "they tear the insides up," police said.

Moments later, while "still playing with the gun," the robber shot himself once in the left leg, prompting the couple to call police at 10:32 p.m., police said.

Guns, plural. Enough to fill a plastic bag. Tell me why they (quantity unknown) were just laying around ??

The reason why if you are going to have a firearm for home defense it needs to be close at hand at all times. None of this it's upstairs in the bedroom safe stuff.

Wear it or keep it in the room with you. Things happen fast.

So I guess since he had just robbed them, He would have at least been picking up the pizza tab should they have wanted to order one.

Conviction on a charge of armed robbery carries a sentence of a minimum of 10 years in prison; conviction on a charge of nighttime burglary carries a sentence of one to 15 years in prison; and conviction on a charge of wanton endangerment with a firearm carries a sentence of one to five years in prison.

It'll be back on the streets in two years. One hopes the next people he tries to rob will solve his problem once and for all.

hmm, too bad his aim wasn't better, he could have removed himself from the gene pool. then again he would have gotten out in less than a year for pain and suffering from the loss of the jewels.
