Ironically, I mainly buy now BECAUSE of the anti-gun movement, and concerns about not being able to buy as easily or affordably or even at all in the future.
In my lifetime, we've been told we can't own high capacity magazines and certain rifles and shotguns, there have been import bans on certain guns and ammo. Gun prices have spiked a handful of times to treble their previous prices, and supplies gone to zero for magazines and ammo at times. Face-to-face transactions have been eliminated in a number of states, putting a premium on those guns I've previously purchased face-to-face (now it requires a bit more hassle and cost - previously the transaction was local and 5 minutes at the parties convenience. Now it's a 30 minute ordeal, $25 added fee, and only when you both can meet at an FFL - so business hours only).
Sure, many of these laws were (barely) repealed or sunset, and some may be changed in the future.
But I am extremely pessimistic about gun rights perpetually in the balance, so I buy and rarely part with one unless it's a trade. I put a personal premium on anything falling into the "ban" category like military style weapons, steel core ammo, and high capacity mags for these reasons.
