Just consider yourself lucky, learn from it like it seems you have.... but you gotta get back in the saddle. I'm sure that close call will just make you a more aware shooter from now on..... which is good so stop beating yourself up thats why they are called accidents.
Yes, had some friend over drinking one night and let a friend see my 870 later upon grabbing the shotgun to put it away I for some reason grabbed it with my finger inside of the trigger guard and my friend had the safety off for some reason. Luckily it was in the basement of the house and it discharged 1 foot away from a concrete wall. it was 00buck and made it about 10" into the concrete before stopping. I was luckily. And no longer let friends touch my weapons when they are over and I never handle them while having anything to drink. It was a stupid way to learn but I did.
