Have you ever received a firearm as a gift?

I received a Marlin bolt action single shot .22 with scope and a NEF 20 gauge single shot when I was younger as Chrtistmas gifts.

My dad gave me a couple as a teenager, Hunting rifels and shotguns. Since I've been grown he hasn't given me any, but he has let me borrow some for going on 6 years now.

Hello friends and neighbors // Presents from the parents.
1975-Marlin 22. semi auto rifle with Tasco scope (still have scope too)

Got my first gun, a youth remington 870 in 20ga for Christmas. Ruger 10/22 for Christmas a few years back. Got a taurus 85 for my birthday this year.

People know I like guns!

An Australian officer I served with gave me his Hi-Power.
A neighbor of mine gave my daughter his 1911, remington rand 1943, she was 14 at the time. She still carries it and a bunch of parts have been replaced. There's no finish left on it. She won't give it up.

For the last 20 years my father has given me and my brother a firearm for Christmas. In turn he gets one from me and one from my brother too every Christmas.

My wife and father-in-law gave me my first personally-owned firearm: a Mossberg 500 combo.

Let's see, a bb gun with cleaning kit and wall rack by my grandparents in 1955.

A Savage 24 .410/.22WMR by my parents.

A 12 ga. Fox Model 12 by my parents.

A Marlin Mountie by my uncle in '63.

A Guerini 28 ga. Woodlander by my father a few years ago.

All of his guns 2 years ago when he quit shooting and moved to assisted living at age 85.

An H&R .38 Long my by aunt when she retired from nursing after 37 years at Johns Hopkins.

An tiny Iver Johnson .32 that belonged to my grandfather.

Another H&R that my father doesn't remember who gave it to him.

My great uncle Ed's top break 1884 nickel S&W .38.

I know I'm missing some. "Nobody wants it? Give it to John, he'll take anything." :)

Have not received any, as all we had when I was growing up was old family hand-me-downs. I did give my little brother an NEF 20 gauge Pardner for Christmas one year.

Lots of them, in fact ... and even some that I've given to myself on occasion. :)

But if you aren't wishing for at least one gun from Santa for Christmas, what in the wide wide world of sports are you thinking about? Mr. Claus, after all, put a P88C under the tree last year with my name on it, and I'm sure that he has something else in mind for this Dec. 25 as well.

My dad gave me a BB gun when I was five. Then, when I was 12 he bought me my first shotgun, a Winchester model 1300 12 gauge. Back then I thought it was the best pump shotgun made, and I still do. I am glad dad had the head on his shoulders to get me a good gun.

Yes..........................................

Life is short..... Now is absolutly the wrong time to try and disarm me............................................................

My Dad gave me a 16 ga. shotgun for Christmas when I turned 13. That was 57 years ago.Sold it to my nephew 5 years ago.

Yep, my dad gave me a Winchester Model 37 20 gauge on my 10th birthday. My grandpa had given to him on his 10th birthday. I look forward to the day when I can pass it on down the line.

My father-in-law gave me a Ruger Mk II last Christams.

All the rest I've bought.

Never gotten one as a gift, but I did inherit all my grandfather's guns when he passed away since nobody in the family wanted them.

Sure- My grandfather gave me his old shotgun; and my husband bought me my first pistol. I have 3 guns on my Christmas list for this year.

Nothing until the last few years - both my father and father-in-law have been cleaning out their closets, and since my kids and I are the only ones in the family into guns, they all end up at my house! A custom-built 30-06 based on a Gewehr 98 receiver, a Springfield 1903 (built in 1919) with an almost new barrel, a nice Rossi side-by-side, several .22's, and a couple of 100+ year-old rifles that are currently being appraised. And the old gents are still holding onto the "good" ones!

My wife (she was my girlfriend at the time) gave me a Beretta Stampede Deluxe in .357 Mag. for Christmas one year. It is my first and only single action revolver and I love it!
