I was wondering... all my S.D. guns are loaded with Federal Ammo. They have sealed primers etc. But the ammo is expensive! Around $28 for 20 rounds. Few days ago I went to Walmart and saw Remington 9mm JHP personal defense ammo. 100 rounds for $19. Way better price. Do you guys think it is as good as Federal? Does it have the same life? Would you feel comfortable having that in your CCW for say 3 to 6 months versus Federal, which seams to be the best out there as far as reliability?

How could it be the ammo? It was a light strike, right? If it were a full strike, it would be a dud primer, but with a light strike, it must have been lint or slight corrosion, or something preventing a full strike by the firing pin.

Was the primer on that particular round even dented?
