Was looking at another thread about a Tactical single-shot shotgun when I noticed ATI Was also planning on doing the same thing to the 870. I like the heat-shield with build-in Ghost Ring Sights! Looks like it can be user-installed.

Unless you tighten that sucker down, or use JB Weld on it, it probably wont stay accurate for very long.

It's attached to a round object. Unless it rotates about 5 degrees to the side, it isn't going to effect accuracy that much at all, even with slugs. This is a shotgun, not a target rifle.

One big advantage peep and GR sights have over plain open sights is the greater sight radius.

This gizmo negates that.

That aperture must be HUGE. Sight radius would be just a bit longer than what you get on the rifle sighted barrels, from the looks of it.

Maybe next year's model will offer a full-length picatinny rail :D

I don't know. I put a Williams rear peep sight on my MAK-90 and it seemed to improve accuracy over the standard notch. Plus, I could see more of the target. I think a Ghost Ring that far forward is fine for shotgun work and adequate for slugs. I don't think the ring has to be that large either, but the jury is still out till I can get my grubby hands on them.
