The Healthways Plainsman was designed and first produced in the sixties until 1987
It was modeled after the Colt Woodsman that it resembles, it’s also a decent shooter as well as being well made. Reliable and decent examples can be had for relatively little money. Good reasons for considering the Plainsman if you’re thinking about expanding your collection of vintage replicas pistols. You do need to know which version to buy if you are to avoid problems sourcing ammunition. A few models in .22 special ammo is needed. Eight or nine models were produced. ,

I have one that was dads... I may be taking it to a gun buy back program tomorrow n see if it can become a 100.00 gift card :p

That just makes me sad. To be melted down or crushed. A piece of vintage American history. ☹ And dads no less.

well it would be over three times its worth... I have his fwb 124,fwb model 80 a hw50m and a couple Colt Gold cups-a ruger mk1,uberti stallion .22,a rem 1100 and a 6"model28 smith and a standard colt government model that wont likely ever go away so I dont feel too bad... and many many of his tools n junk that I literally trip over every day.... do you want the plainsman for 100? :p

Have three if it was the Marksman plainsman I would.
Good ones are selling for up to $75.00 in box $100+ good condition working. Less for untested.
