Heller and the ACLU?

Where before, the ACLU could dodge defending the Second Amendment under the rationale, "Whether or not the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right is in dispute, therefore we will not choose to actively defend it.", but now, since it has been ruled as an individual right, should the ACLU not be setting up a dedicated section for issues relating to the RKBA?

Should some of us who are more professionally qualified than myself knock on their door and volunteer to lead this new section? I'm not sure whether I'm being facetious or not. What is their rationale to ignore the RKBA NOW?

Honestly, they'll probably just call the decision too controversial which will allow them to continue their stance.

The ACLU has always been an ideologically-driven entity. Plus,
considerable opposition arguing for property rights/gun rights/economic autonomy has pushed them further left (WLF, PLF, MSLF, SLF, etc, etc.).

A guy at the gun club recently wrote them a letter, basically saying that he had dropped his membership years ago on account of their second ammendment stance, but that now that the second ammendment was clearly defined he fully expected them to start supporting the 2nd as an individual right,and here was his membership dues. He didn't hear back from them, but they kept the twenty. Go figure.

Turn this back to an activism type discussion or it's turned off. Bitching and whining isn't allowed in Activism or Activism Discussion. Either come up with something constructive or stay out of it.

Here's a question.....could one sue the ACLU to get them to change their official stance to comply with the law of the land, and thus get them on our side?

Or, at the very least, rather than complain about the ACLU, people could start writing ACLU's headquarters to say that if they switched their stance and started supporting the 2nd, that more of the general populace would probably join--heck, I would consider biting that bullet, for the sake of it.

The ACLU supporting RKBA would cost them membership not increase it. They cater to a very liberal group of people who would be very unhappy with these changes and I bet a lot of their base would leave them. While they may pick up new members, I don't think they want to alienate existing ones.
If they all of a sudden decided to fight for RKBA, hell I'd support em. But for every me, there is probably two liberals who will leave.
