Hi everyone,
Last night, my sister’s car, which was parked right in front of my house, was ransacked. I’m not sure how badly because I didn’t find out about it until after my sister had left for work (I sleep late, she gets up early). I asked my mom if they filed a police report or otherwise called the police. No, they didn’t. First question, is it too late to file a police report? It happened this morning and I’ll have to wait for my sister to get off work in the evening (6ish) before we could get it done. Second question, should I be concerned this individual will return? Before you answer that, here is background information:
My sister’s friend brought over to my house, without my prior knowledge, a “friend” she has known for three years. I come in from church to find this guy sitting next her in my living room. He stays for a bit and then leaves with her. It is at this point I found out that, from my mom and sister (they were pissed) that she brought this guy uninvited and that when she says she’s known him for three years, that really meant she met him three years ago and has not seen him since. They “reconnected” yesterday via the Internet. He admitted to have trouble with the law until his early twenties, or a few years ago. Now, I’m not saying it was this guy that ransacked my sister’s car but I can’t help but be suspicious.
Third question: As is customary for me, I sat up late, until early morning. I tend to place my .38 special on my knee and watch TV. From several windows in the house I can be seen and presumably my gun as well. I heard some noise outside and the neighbor’s dogs carrying on the way they do when they see someone strange (which is usually someone just taking a nightly walk, common in my town) and I look out the window and saw nothing. Is it possible the ransacker saw me with my gun and decided against breaking into the house?
Finally, any advice or tips or anything else?
