Well I would recomend the bolt gun for sure for the $ and the accurecy you seek.

The accurecy is a difficult thing to accieve for most in the real world ... take a look at RFC for 1/4 " club its not any easy task to achieve 4 - 5 shot groups on same target under .25" Center to Center at 25 yards but is possible this is the equivilent of .75 at 75 yards.

Your ruger could be improved with minor tweeks.

Bed the action, = DIY
Green Mountin bentz chamber barrel - 100 - 250 dependng on preferences
Skeeter V Block = 30
Mag release to improve ergo issues = 15
Trigger Work DYI Polish job with VQ Hammer kit/with auto release = 30

I picked up a used Thompson Center R-55 Classic today, thanks for the help

a Marlin model 60. Also do a search there and look at some of the 100 yard groups some people have posted with the model 60.

When I was a kid I would use my dad's marlin 60 to shoot soda cans consistently at around 50-80 yards, wasn't that hard.
