First, the back story. I've owned several Glocks over the years. None of them lasted more than a couple of months. I didn't like the plain-jane black plastic pistols. They never meant much to me and they always became trade fodder within a month or two.
Fast-forward to present day. About two weeks ago I did some trading to acquire a Gen 3 Glock 21 with OD green frame. I love this pistol. I think the simple color change helped a lot. The gun shoots great and no longer feels like a huge plastic brick in my hand. It actually pushed my Kimber off the night stand and back into the safe.
Here is the dilemma. I am thinking of trading my absolutely sacred, beloved CZ 75 for a G17 and a CZ 452 Varminter for a G36. The 75 has been my favorite pistol for a long, long time, but I realized recently that I never shoot it. It's only been to the range once or twice in the past year. The 452 is scary accurate, but I just don't have the time or space to shoot it like I used to and a carry gun just makes more sense right now.
I guess my only concern is that I will regret the trade later, though I can't think of any trade I've ever truly regretted. Saving and buying the Glocks isn't really a viable option. My wife and I are just beginning to recover financially from losing our jobs on the same day just before Christmas.
So I guessing I'm just looking for some of that sage, old THR advice. What do y'all think? Am I nuts. Is it an impulse trade? Thanks in advance.
