Help me choose between a Savage or Remington

A friend has a rem that shoots great, he loves it. I bought a lightly used savage 110 and it is great. We are close enough to equals that shooting together is fun, when we switch rifles the same happens. The other day he hit a golf ball at 200 yards. I then hit a rock set on the 7up bottle at about the same, powdered it. Both great...also consider if you want a 'working' gun. Are you going to get out in it (weather) much? Do you mind the mud and wet? Is the rifle really heavy?. I took off that useless Harris Bi Pod and just rest the rifle on a bed roll or pack, etc. I got the Savage because in my area it was cheaper. I just started into reloading and am horrified at the crap I shot through that fine rifle now that I know what to look for. S. Afr surplus had crooked seatings, varying loads, and other surplus wobbled when rolled:eek:

Good luck and have fun. I recommend learning about reloading even if you can't afford the initial setup - it helps me understand a lot more about bullets and ballistics.

I am plannng on reloading, too, as a way of keeping both the savage and my .30-30 fed.
