I need some help finding a dealer that will accept an out of state handgun shipment for me from another FFL. I have checked around and everyone seems to want $35.00 (I can handle that) or 10-15% of the value of the gun! Whichever is greater! What a rip off!!!! :cuss: :cuss:

Can someone suggest a dealer in the Louisville Area that will accept an out of state transfer for me for a reasonable cost?

My apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum, if I did and you can move it to the proper forum please do so.

Thanks,

Musgy

DerbyFal's,

Thanks a ton for the lead. I just talked to William, seems like a nice guy and the info about the transfer fee checks out! $15.00 what a deal!

Have you used him before? You trust him right? I dont mean to sound harsh but its a fairly expensive piece, and I don't really have any experience with out of state transfers.

Thanks again,

Mugsy

He's a LT in the Jeff Co. Sheriff's Dept. He should check out. ;)

He did two transfers for me last week. It went smooth. Make sure the other FFL sends a copy of his license for Bill's records.

He has a few guns and accessories for sell. His business days are Tue and Thur, I believe. With the Dive Center owner receiving the packages for him on other days. He checks in every day for the packages.

LOL, OK that's good enough for me. Thanks a bunch for the contact, I will be sending him the transfer info today.

Sportshooters Indoor Gun Range, will do a transfer for $25.

I to was amazed when I went one place & they wanted 10%(on a $3300 gun...). Greedy dealers no longer get my $.

Mugsy,

I know your problem too well! I looked around before I found my current FFL (I'm in IL) and all the shops wanted to charge that percentage. One shop even wanted 20%

Needless to say, none of those shops even gets my business for paper targets.

I finally found a guy to do transfers for me at the rate of $20, which I believe is quite fair.
