help picking a scope

ok i want a new scope to go on my remington 700 tactical in 223. looking to spend around 500-600. have never had a scope with real fine reticle and would like to try that. something with 10x. so tell me your thoughts on what is good for this. tia

Why not Buy 3 or 4 and still have $400.00 left over... More Scopes~More FUN... I have 4 Scopes for this Gun Below. and Have Fun at the Range shooting with all 4 scopes at the Range... I'm changing Scopes Faster Than A CAT Covering Sheet...<) FUN

i'm a huge fan of the leupold 4.5-14x40...

I have a 6-24 Bushnell 4200 with fine crosshairs, works well at 600.

I just want to say, look through one before you buy one with fine crosshairs. My 6.5-20 AO with target crosshairs is fine for punching paper, but it sucks to try to use it in the field without good lighting.

I'm a fan of the Weaver Grand Slams, Burris Black Diamond or Euro Diamond, Bushnell Elite 4200, higher end Nikons and Pentax (not the new cheapy models), and the mid-upper range Leupolds, although I think they are starting to price themselves a little high for the glass quality.
