Any comments on the Henry .22's (lever action) that are selling for around the $200 mark ? I can't remember the model number but it's the blued version similar to the Golden Boy.

Your thoughts/experience would be appreciated.

I believe the reason they sell for substantially less than lever guns from Winchester and Marlin is that they use a non-ferrous alloy for the frame/receiver. Whether this is something that should influence your purchase is up to you.

I have one that I picked up at Wally World. I like it, and IMO it's a decent, accurate little rifle. The receiver's painted, not blued, and I've read of others who've had some problems with the paint. I haven't. My main thing is it's NEVER jammed or misfed any type of ammo (I haven't tried shorts in it, though), it's pretty accurate, and it's fun to plink with. Mine like the Win Xpert hollow points the best. I can cover a quarter at 25 yds.

Go for it!

I enjoy mine for what it is. I have never had any problems with it.

got one. always had a thing for levers, but it really is more fun to shoot than all of my ARs.

as was mentioned before, never had it fail to feed fire or eject. i've put maybe 2, going on 2 and a half of the 550 round boxes through it since summer.

also, i recommend getting the large loop, even if you have to wait for it.

also, also, curiously, the instructions indicate you shouldn't clean it much. so all ive done is run one of the shoe-lace-style boresnakes through it dry a few times since i've owned it. still no problems.

definitely top of the "best bang for buck" category
