Henry H001 22 rifle - Comments?

Frulk. I had it set up to hit an 8ā€ steel dinger at 200 yards. Dobedo, itā€™s a Montana Vintage Arms #130 with a Little Sharps mount.

I bought a used Henry .22 lever gun a few years back.
This thing looked like someone used it to beat bears to death, but it's still smooth, well balanced and accurate.
The extractor needed replaced and I couldn't find one anywhere, so I called Henry.
They sent me a new extractor and spring for free.

This thread has inspired me to put a wider rear aperture on my Henry SGC. I happen to have a couple laying around...

I think this should work better for shooting at 50 yards plus. The standard aperture and the gold bead get a little crowded for me when I'm trying to shoot that far away.

Looking forward to trying it out. I have the standard size aperture in the range bag so I can switch back easily if desired. Pretty sure the new one is one size up (large).

I'm very tempted to put a Williams FP AG sight on my Henry to match the one on my Marlin. The FP on my Marlin lets me get enough elevation to shoot my cast loads with a similar trajectory to a 22. Part of me wants to leave it stock though. I guess I'll have to shoot it more until I can make a decision. Darn.

I have a long barrel frontier, my SIL has a golden boy, and a grandson has another golden boy in 17HMR that is the oldest rifle by far, No problems at with all having very smooth operating actions. The Marlin 39A I had took much more effort. I finally added a scope to my LBF to take advantage of it's accuracy. No it won't win any bench rest match but is excellent for hunting and playing games. Zamak has long been proven to perfectly adequate for 22 rimfire guns and it keeps their selling price down. I have never heard of anyone wearing out a zamak rimfire gun of any kind. I am sure it's possible just like it is one from steel if you manage to shoot it enough.
