Tell me everything you know. Blueprints encouraged.

Full Disclosure: I plan on moving the trigger and grip forward a few inches. Information that will help me know how that may or may not be possible is good.
 
I have a 995B-- that being said--

HPs are great value for the buck--

1) you are stuck with the grip as is--it holds the magazine through the pistol grip.
2) the 4095 has little in the way of mods unless you count Bushman parts triggers, shork brakes,charging handles, etc..
3) the new TS stock is in the pipeline, but I do not think it is out yet (for the 4095-- it is already out for the 995)
4) There as no ATI (Beretta CX4 Storm clonish stock) for the 4095

mya, I think a knife and some epoxy can clear that problem up anyways... I'll prolly make my own very custom furniture for it anyhow, and plan on moving the trigger up a bit, so the magwell may just protrude as an unused portion.
 
Hi again,

Just something to keep in mind, the High Point 4095 carbine is listed as being 32 1/2" long, overall. When you finish your bull-pup conversion, it can't be any shorter than 26" long, or it will become a Title II regulated firearm, even if the barrel is still 16"+.

6" is a reasonable goal for shortening a gun. It should be pretty cool once done. Just make sure you're staying legal.

Question: If i put a collapsable stock and after collapsing it becomes less than 26".... is that a problem?
 
If I recall correctly, any rifle with a folding stock is measured for length with the stock out. I'm not 100% sure how it works with collapsible ones, but I think you're good. Hopefully someone who knows for sure will jump on here soon.

According to the BATF and my home state it is measured with the stock fully extended (for folding or collapsible stocks). Some [communist] states differ, but most agree...where do you live?

How much would you pay for a legal .40 that looks JUST like a UMP? or MP5 for all that matter. You know, if I could get this to work, I could buy a hi-point for 150, put maybe 100 in materials, and sell them for what? 8, 9 hundred dollars? I will be able to make it look JUST like a SMG, the only difference is the magazine would go behind the trigger....

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but this could be lucrative... Think how much those MP5 clones that shoot 22s sell...

You're not going to find a Hi-point carbine for $150, you're going to put at least $500 into it (if you want it to work and look good) and NO ONE is going to pay a cent for your frankengun monstrosity.

Build one for YOU, because you want one.

Half-assing junk into other junk won't make you any money.

Please continue, but be realistic.

LOL, unfortunately that is pretty much true. Don't jump in planning to make money off of it, the best case scenario is you fail and loose a little money, but end up with a carbine that you like. Worse case scenario is you build it and everyone falls in love with it and buys one...you make loads of money...then get sued by H&K (a la GSG) and loose everything that you made and the lawyers proceed until they bleed you dry. Always remember that you suck and they hate you. :D

If for no other reason than that if you do any gunsmithing work (including finishing) for profit, you're required to hold a Type 001 FFL.

But, at this point, that's the least of your worries! LOL!

Didn't realize that...I am the village [strike]idiot[/strike] gunsmith...but have never charged, so I suppose I am in the clear. :D

Unrealistic pricing.

Coharie clones of the actual MP5 are < 1k at this point, ATI Turkish guns are on the market and going 1300 or less.

No matter what you do, the Hi-Point won't be a MP5 or UMP. Even if you get some fancy accessory stock to pull off a 'look', you're looking at a couple hundred bucks to make any profit - see the various Ruger etc dressup kits for your pricepoint.

But you know, the difference is that my final product, anyone can buy. Those clones are SBRs, mine is a Carbine.

but I wasn't even serious anyways.... sheesh
 
I think you have a solid idea (now...before, not so much)...and a whole lot of work ahead of you, but I am eager to see the results.

The styling is an attempt to justify the low price. :uhoh: Why is anything ugly?...Someone, somewhere thought it looked good...but they were wrong, very wrong. FWIW the new models look a good bit better IIRC, but I would get the ugly (cheaper) one as you plan to strip the carbine of the stock anyway, and as motivation for restyling it.
