I'm a pistol guy and a one caliber guy for the most part. I have a Kel Tec Sub2000 that takes Glock mags. Since I have a ton of Glock mags and it folds, I bought it and like the KT.

Now, I'm not selling the KT, but what I'd really like is a 9mm carbine that I can hang a flashlight off of and put a red dot scope on. You know, really BUBBA it out!

Anyhow, can I do this to my KT, or would just getting the Hi Point be a better idea. I could use 2 carbines, so buying another is not out of the question.

Any opinions?

The KT always seemed a bit too flimsy to me. Don't get me wrong, I have 3 KT pistols, and love 'em, but I wouldn't want to have to butt-stroke anyone with one of the carbines. However, my Hi-Point is a rock with the ATI stock. I currently have a red dot and a light hung on it, and have a laser on the way. It's my number-one fun gun and it's the hands-down favorite for noobs, kids and women, as the red dot makes it so easy to hit with.

Have you thought about getting a carbine upper that fits the glock frame? I had one with an aimpoint and surefire on it. It was heavy, but plenty accurate and sturdy.

Hi Points are good but the KT like you stated takes hi cap mags you already have...get the KT!

hes already got a KT.

get the hi point too. everyone should have one. unless you plan on using one of these two as a SHTF carbine, the lack of "high capacity " magazines doesnt affect the HP.

IMO the only drawback to a hi-point carbine is the lack of hi cap mags,

other than that they're hard to beat for the price, and have fairly decent sturdy sights, plus come with a optics weaver style rail.

I've got the 4095 model 40S&W that shoots great, the total OTD price with 4 extra 10rnd mags and tax was $281/change.

If I had to get a 9mm carbine, it would be a Beretta Storm of Ruger PC9, or an AR-15 clone. I don't know if you can hang stuff on it; The AR probably and the Beretta. The Hi-Point is a little too....unrefined, I guess is a polite way of putting it.

That statement makes you sound like a Gun snob. I wanted a Mercedes, but I ended up with a Dodge Neon. I guess I am not a "refined" human. Makes one wonder, now doesn't it. Got any Grey pupon?:scrutiny:

How are gun snobs a problem? The gun industry isn't going to get very influential if it has to depend on Hi-Point buyers for revenue... you aren't any hungrier because someone else is eating Grey Poupon.

Of course if someone hits your Neon (or my Geo) in a Mercedes, we're doomed :neener: (These metaphors always give out if you extend them enough :uhoh:)
