Hi-point carbines get a new stock

These have been shipping for a little while. The company has rather limited production but you can get on their list. They are generally rated positively by most reviewers.

I want one but I need to trade my 9mm carbine for a 10mm first. That would be a crazy setup for a 10mm carbine!

I thought this was a new OEM stock for a second which would be interesting.

This looks good, but by the time you lay out this much you're spending more than a Keltec Sub2000 and about the same as a 9mm AR.

Still can't figure out why Hi-Point seems hell bent on making gun furniture that seems almost INTENTIONALLY ugly. Like, it wouldn't even cost extra to make them look better but dang it you bought a Hi-point so you NEED to suffer!

I was under the impression the carbines had been more well received than the handguns.
I had a friend some 16 yrs ago that bought two hipoint handguns at the same time. A 9mm and a 45. IIRC we were having some slight difficulties with one of them (9mm?) but the other was reliable.

They are for the most part. And with a reputation of a no question asked lifetime backing. Though now with Ruger having their PCC and AR-15 9mm builds have closed in on Hi-Point pricing.

I don't like the idea of a PCC really -- except for the SUB-2000 (foldable, compatible mags, threaded), and they can be had for only $100 more than a Hi-Point.

Still, ~$250 for a Hi-Point carbine is a pretty good deal, all things considered.

I had a 9mm carbine a couple years ago. It was fun and it worked well but didn't give me the warm and fuzzies. I got tired of it after awhile and built a 9mm AR15 to replace it which I like much better, but it did cost twice as much as the hipoint.

The price of the stock on top of buying the carbine would have me buying a Freedom Ordinance FX-9 instead. Better platform and it takes Glock mags.

I had an old-style 995 and shot a friends new-style. While I'm a 'do your own thing' guy, and encourage entrepreneurs offering new and cool stuff, I'm afraid it's a pointless item.

Hi-Points work best as-issued, perhaps a bit better with a cheap laser or scope, but aside from that, they're good to go right out of the box.

The 995 is truly ugly. I'll have to admit it has never failed to feed, fire, or have any malfunction, with the exception of small parts falling off. No sweat as HiPoint replaced them free.
You'd be surprised at how good this old carbine looks with a new stock!

Looks 100% better with the new stock, don't ya think so?
Yes the new stock cost more than twice as much as the whole old gun! :)

I've got the 995ts in the new HTA MBS95 stock and it works great. It's very accurate and reliable. Plus it looks cool. It took all of 15 minutes to switch out and makes dis-assembly and re-assembly much easier.

The stock does look nice, but it takes the price of the carbine into $475.00 territory, and you can get a Ruger PC Carbine for that price - shipped, and the Ruger takes Glock magazines.

Random 8,

It hurts my very soul they that they called that movie Starship Troopers which I read the first time while going through Advanced Individual Training (Infantry) in Tigerland at Ft. Polk LA.

It seems to me that if they had been able to hook a generator up the RAH's body we might still be getting free energy.
