Hickok45 blocked again!

IT Incompetence, a friend suggests. They might have not removed the database trigger that caused the first blackout -- let's just hope it's that.

His facebook page mentions this about the first blockage when his youtube video was apparently posted on google+ social network as well;

(from Hickok45) "Apparently, Google + is more sensitive about firearms related postings and such. I never use Google+ and did not even realize the videos were being posted over there, I guess. I will keep you posted via Facebook here and the Hickok45andson channel. I have communicated with YouTube via email this morning, and hopefully, we'll be able to get the channel back up soon. I had just posted a new video.
ALSO: please stay tuned here and at the Hickok45andson channel on YouTube for any information. I cannot answer all the questions, of course, that are flowing in. I'll just have to keep you updated here as we know anything. Appreciate all the expressions of support. Thanks"

With luck its a fluke and not a ban.

Sounds more like a policy dispute over conflicting interests between google and youtube than a 2a issue...we'll see though, hopefully he gets things straightened out.

Apparently the first time he was banned it has to do with his YouTube account also being converted to a Google+ account without him being aware of it or the implications. Google requires any content provider who promotes "regulated content" (which for some reason does not apply to Rap) to do age and geographic filtering.

Given the typical European comment on gun videos, the later might not be that bad of an idea

I just sent YouTube a message via their feedback feature politely asking them to restore Hickoks channel and I encourage everyone here to do so as well.

As in the previous thread, folks, let's PLEASE find out what he himself has to say about it as he works with YouTube to sort it out -- before we come up with a bunch of imaginative theories.

If he says they break down and tell him Obama told them to do it, I guess y'all can go riot in the streets, but until then, let's keep our pants on.

No one has taken their pants off... we're just wondering what's going on.

Since CNN, CBS, FOX and all others are not a viable option for us,... we come here to vent.

Yes, let's wait for the Old Man and YouTube to sort it out :)

Doesn't Google own/manage YouTube? I wouldn't think IT incompetence would be an issue, but I guess it's possible.

So far, the only thing I know of that Hickok has personally, publicly said about this second occurrence, is, "Here we go again. Guess this message I got on Wednesday doesn't mean very much: *link to message from YouTube saying he is not in violation of their ToS*."

I don't like the way this looks.

It's too bad that rape victim who spoke out at the town hall when Obama was there was not backed up by equal or greater numbers of 2nd amendment supporters.

Maybe the time to appease has long outstayed it's welcome.

I took computer programing courses it's not imcompetence. It looks to me like we have some supporter/supporters in youtube that have been gagged and suppressed hopefully not because they have allowed themselves to be.

This is an issue about freedom in general and not specifically linked to the 2nd ammendment.

I am so sorry to see some of the best defenders of free open speech, icons at one time, the people who started things such as face book and the like, tuck tail and turn into government controlled rats.

Success has turned them into what they have feared becomming. That is oppressive government and corportation controlled stooges.

Thanks facebook and youtube for allowing yourselves to be used to promote political zealotry and suppression of those who oppose it.

It's like one hope after another gets dashed. I would have respected their antigun views but I guess they are just another business these days.

You can bet your life on this... there are incompetent people working for YouTube / Google.

Heck, ... there are incompetent folks running "The House" :fire:

It's very unlikely this is a mistake and the coiincidences are stacking up too much.

I see this as a definate attempt to black out all public distribution of pro 2nd amendment ideas from non mainstream avenues leaving only the mostly anti gun mainstream sources available to present their own views unhindered by any pro 2nd amendment (alternate) points of view.

This is good and bad. It means we have a significant amount of supporters that those who seek to suppress our 2nd amendment freedoms, and now our freedom to express ourselves, see us as a significant threat. This just gets worse and worse.

I have always said that these people are not going to stop at just forcibly stripping the nation of their constitutional right to own firearms and protect themselves and their loved ones but will most certainly move on to strip us of our other rights as well as evidenced by this attempt to suppress the expression of a huge number of hard working tax paying citizens who lose sleep to keep this nations economy and ideals of freedom alive.

I think this is the start of something and if anyone is keeping any kind watch of over things like this I strongly suggest you keep your pants up and belted.

His account is probably getting heavily attacked/flagged by anti-gunners. Youtube/Goggle have automated shutdown mechanisms. No way they can monitor all Youtube content without automation. Of course this is assuming the best. I really hope this is not censorship.

Getting to talk with a human working for Youtube is almost as difficult as getting good, personalized customer service from Ebay or Century Link....

Found this about the first ban:
Initially, Hickok45 speculated that Google+, which is integrated with YouTube, may have removed his channel for violating its policy on gun-related content. That appears to not be the case, as Hickok45 says he was contacted by the Google+ support team and told that his channel fell within the service’s guidelines. YouTube also contacted him and stated that his channel did not violate any of its policies.

So both the first time and the second time it was probably anti-gun folks hitting "report" and him being banned by algorithm. I would not rule out a campaign of even a fairly small number of anti-gunners, esp. if they create dummy accounts.

Hopefully this gets straightened out and his account gets put in "public figure" mode where viewer reports actually get reviewed by humans not machines.

This is very upsetting to me! I wanted to watch his video on the Lyman Great Plains Rifle before going to bed! :(
