Screw Winchester and screw Ranger. That ammo is quality control hell, it's crap full of bad rounds and Winchester won't even acknowledge you when you try to tell them about it complete with lot numbers and photos.

Thanks for the feedback. I planned to get a couple cases but money is tighter than I hoped and I could only partially make up my mind so for now I ordered 1 case ($246 shipped for 1k) of the RWS Geco 124gr FMJ from Target Sports.

I'll check back with range impressions after I get a chance to shoot it, hopefully next week/weekend.

For the next case, when I get around to it, I can't decide if I'll double down or wait it out for Lawman 124gr to come available at a good price, or maybe the Fiocchi. Or maybe just go with cheap plinking Wolf at $200/1k shipped. Decisions Decisions.

If Cabela's has a sale and I have their coupon I can score some pretty good deals on Sellier & Bellot or Fed American Eagle ammo, and there's no sales tax at the Newark DE store. That Speer Lawman mail order deal is pretty hard to beat.

Its been a few years, but I've used canned heat. It didn't seem hot, but definitely warmer than WWB. In reference to recoil was comparable to Magtech (also warm) in my Kahr P9.

Seemed to be right in the middle of cheap FMJ and cheap JHP +p.
so u like the magtech pretty well?

Hey, my thread! Weird, I just Googled this thread up and read through it yesterday before making my annual December/January "man I need more 9mm" order.

After my October bump I ended up with a variety pack of Speer Lawman 124gr, IMI 115gr FMJ, and PPU 124gr FMJ. Yesterday I ended up with PPU 124gr FMJ. It was only $8 more at SGAmmo to get 1,100 rounds of it than 1,000 of Speer Lawman would have been from Target Sports USA. Really tough decision there. The IMI would have been really tempting too but it seems to be out of stock at wideners. It was $209/1k several days ago when I checked (plus shipping)

ETA: Interestingly I haven't shot any of the first case of PPU, so that's basically all I'll be using in the short term with two cases of it as soon as this last one arrives. But I've always like PPU .223/5.56 ammo and have shot some of their handgun ammo in the past + it gets good reviews and the price was right.
