Higher end scopes.

I’ve never had a need for any scope more “higher end” than a Leupold. Same with binoculars.

Well i settled on a UTG I have 2 of their scopes in lower powers. I got my rifles out and compared my scopes at close to the same power looking over town 10 blocks out. And evaluated on clearness and edge distortions. The UTG'S looked the best to me. My new ones going to go on my axis .223. The Weaver 3x9x40 that is on it. Im going to move to my CZ 457. Thank you everyone for your replies. When the scope comes i'll post a review and range report.

Ive actually had pretty good luck with UTG scopes, Ive used a few of the bug busters.

UTG seems to have upped their optics game from what I've read online the last couple years. Still not going to mistake them for Leupold, Burris, etc., but I've read enough positive things I'd be tempted to give one a shot if I wanted a cheap scope.

Scope came today. Boy is it big lol. I hope it will be alright. Ebay seller dropped shipped. From a company that buys returns and overstock. I hope it wasn't a return. It didn't look like it was installed prior. No markings in the scope mount screws. I have it mounted and bore sighted. Plan on shooting with it. The next day or 2.

Yeah they are high. They came with the scope. I'll see how the bolt clearance is when i take it out.

Ya, if it works for you it really doesn't matter, just looked high in the picture. On my Savage Axis I had to go extra high because of the bolt throw, so sometimes it can't be avoided.

Here is my range session. Best shots were with 24 grains of varget 55 grain Berrys bullets. i had some light loads with 9 grains of red dot. With 55 grain bullets from Rock mtn reloading. They opened up at 100 yards. Also as the barrel got hot groups opened up. 50 yard target center mass and head shots were with the varget loads. Left upper target was with the red dot loads. The 100 yard target. Centermass was the varget loads. Head and left target was the red dot loads. As to the scope it's self. Im very happy with it. Clarity was good at all power ranges. I did use the paralax settins too for each yardage. I need to work on my steadiness. My son took out some clays at 100 yards with it. Getting old sucks lol.

I changed the handle on my Axis to a tactical from Everglades for the same reason. Axis stock bolt handles are not scope friendly, but with the Tactical, I was able to go with medium rings on a 3x9x50.

I've got several Burris including E1, FF2, Veracity, and RT-25. Been happy with all of them. I also have UTG bug buster on my 10/22 take down, no complaints with it either.
I don't do competition shooting, mainly just hunting and target, but here's my philosophy :
From 300yds in, any of the quality low priced scopes ($200 to $400) that I've mentioned will do the job for me. From 300 to 500yds, I need to get in the $600-$1000 range, I.E. Veracity , RT, Viper, Monarch , etc.
I don't need a Ziess or Nightforce until I get past 500yds, but that's just my opinion, other's eyes may be different.
