Hey,

I just recently purchased a Glock 22 which I traded for a Glock 23.

Now, I'm thinking of saving up for a new pistol. Currently, I own a SIG and a Glock, and am thinking of expanding to the HK pistols. The two I'm thinking of currently are the P2000 and P30.

My questions are:

1) They are very expensive. Are they worth the price to you?

2) The P2000 I know is a bit smaller than the P30 from what I saw, but is the P30 easily concealed?

3) Which would you recommend, if either?

4) What is a reasonable price for a used and new one in decent quality?

they are both fine weapons but i prefer the feel of the p2000 to the p30. the p2000 has a fuller grip and seemed to soak up more recoil than the newer, more rigid,p30 frame. the grip is narrower under the "beavertail" on the p30 and it was so narrow i did not like it. also HKs have pretty horrible DA triggers so consider an LEM model when purchasing....or at least shoot the DA/SA variant. that being said i sold all my HKs last year and happily went back to Glock.

I have a couple of P30s. The DA pull is very respectable, but long. I have no problem with it at all. The ergonomics on the P30 is great. Overall, I would rate the P30 as a very good choice. I've never shot the p2000.

1. I bought a P30S (S = manual safety), and I have no plans on selling it, so obviously it was worth it to me. I would say that you would have to handle/shoot one to decide if it is worth the price to you, just like any other pistol or product.

2. My P30 is currently the pistol I carry concealed every day, but I wear a t-top as an undershirt with a button shirt outside on most days. If you are planning to carry the pistol IWB with no inside shirt, then I would definately go with the P2000 as the P30 has a grip texture that would rub your skin down very harshly.

3. I would recommend whichever one you shot better or felt more comfortable with. Either one is a good pistol.

4. I have no idea.

As far as the DA trigger, I carry my pistol cocked and locked, so I never use DA, but just from dry firing, it feels smoother and lighter than lots of other DA/SA pistols out there. The SA breaks cleanly, and the only thing I would like H&K to improve on as far as the trigger, is the reset. With a shorter reset, I would have no complaints about the trigger on the P30.
