HK P2000 SK....anyone?

Anyone own or have experience with an HK P2000 SK? I am thinking of getting one. Thanks.

I have one. Mine is an LEM in .40 S&W with night sights. Its a great gun. I cant carry as they dont allow that here in IL. However it would be an excellent carry gun. It can take larger magazines from the P2000/USPc in the same caliber. If you choose 9mm I believe the 15 round P30 mag will work as well.

The recoil in .40 S&W is very manageable and it shoots easily. The gun is an accurate and easily handled gun. Its ergonomics are superb and the ability to change the grip is a bonus.

I really recommend checking it out, and giving the LEM trigger a fair chance. If not, I hear the DA/SA is pretty good as well.

If your looking for a good price I would check www.policeguns.com as they come with 3 high cap mags and night sights.

Also check out the P2000 if you can as it is a little bit bigger but also easily an excellent carry gun.

I had one identical to Tecumseh's and I miss it like crazy, the LEM trigger was perfect for CCW! I am currently hunting down another one to replace my stolen love! Great gun and highly recommended here!!!

The P2000SK is a great carry gun and great range gun too. These are easy shooting, surprisingly accurate guns. Mine is a version 3 SA/DA, and the LEM is excellent also...I had a hard time deciding between them.

+1 on the Clyde Armory LEO set up. The factory Mepro Truglo sights are very good and the third mag is a nice bonus. Extra mags are on CDNN for $20. Shown is the set up from Clyde.

Thanks for that info...........I am trying to resist getting one. I want to get the new Berretta PX4 subcompact when it hits the market in Jan., but I may have to get this one first. So many guns and so little time and money.

I have one in .40, V3. I carry it all the time. Even shot IPSC with it briefly. Zero problems ever and very comfortable. It's the lightest recoiling compact .40 you'll find. HK is also selling an Xgrip extension to fir the p2000/compact mag and create additional grip space. To carry I recommend a Milt Sparks holster, it's worth the wait! I use a watch-6 but the VM2 is good also.

I hate em I have to train with one here at the academy and I can't get used to that looooooong trigger pull. I use to carry a 1911, oh! how I miss that 1911 and when I went home for a three day weekend I figuerd I'll try my wife's glock, and that trigger pull that I used to think was very long seemed so short next to that P-2000. I wish we had glock's or sig's instead of these long D/A only trigger pull HK-P2000s.
the worst part is I cant carry anything else off duty only that awfull HK-P2000 other than that it's pertty realiable 2500 round's and no jam's. I guess i have no choice but to get use to that damned gun.:banghead:
just my opinion diffrent guns for diffrent folk's, this one aint for me.

I have a DA/SA .40 P2000SK that I chose for my carry gun. Ergos are 1st rate- I'm a lefty and I like the ambidextrous slide stop and mag release. The decocking button on the left side of the rear of the slide works for the left hand too, but requries an adjusment to my grip. It has been 100% with the 300 rounds through it so far, and I expect that to continue. It feels very rugged and well built, but is just a little heavier than a subcompact Glock. Perceived recoil with .40 caliber ammo is light. The factory Mepro's shoot to point of aim.

Customer service is said to be good now with H&K USA headquarters in Trussville. H&K's have a lifetime guarrantee.

I'm very satisfied with my P2000SK. I ordered several $20 flat floorplate mags from CDNN, and a couple of P2000 12 round mags with the X-grip adapter (I reccomend getting a couple of X-grips-they really work well.)

Had a V2 9MM SK.

Loved everything about it except the horrible magazine drop. Wound up with a Walther P99 -- much happier, if only for the extended release lever.

Full Metal, It took me awhile to get use to the Lem trigger. Once you do, you will settle in. After the first shot you should only be going back to reset not all the way back. First shot take up some of the slack if slow firing. I found when I shot fast I wouldn't notice the long trigger, it's only when I shot slowly that I noticed the long trigger. It took me a good 1000 rounds to start adjusting to get this system down. First shot, slow fire take up some of the slack, second shot only go back to reset. Try shooting double and triple taps fast, and see what you feel. These H&K's are very good pistols, don't give up and work with it, it does come to you. I am guessing that you do have the LEM trigger? If this is an LE gun it probably does, at about 7 to 8 lbs, which is ok. Go shoot an old revolver for a while at 12 lbs, then come back to the HK and you will think the trigger is nice and light and sweet shooting.

To add to cocojo's post above, there is the 5 lb LEM trigger available for installation also. That is the Version 1 trigger for the P2000SK. It is very easy and smooth. Almost too easy.
